I'm not good at this game by any means. But I have always wanted to be. When I first got into SC2, I started as a Terran Player. I can remember when I first looked up basic T starts. I went from sort of knowing what to do, to being able to do a decently strong attack as bio. But this was all back in Bronze League. After a bit, I became bored with T, and switched it up and started playing Protoss. Protoss was a lot of fun. I loved being able to set up a pylon and warp in stalkers at any point and kill my opponent. Even tho I enjoyed it, I went off and tried another race yet again. So now I was Zerg. I loved the ability to never have to really have anything hotkeys other than your Hatches, and units, being able to remax instantly, and have some of the best fun with lings in their base. I ended up playing Zerg the most, but still never got out of Bronze league. maybe that's why I quit SC2, I loved the game, and played a lot of it, but always sucked.
But anyways, my friend gave me a HotS beta key, and I feel back in love with the game. But I quickly ran back into the same problem I did when I played SC2. Not only did I not know what I was doing, but I wasn't sure what race I wanted to play. When I was playing SC2 before, I kept race jumping, never sticking to a race for more than a day or so. And people would always tell me, just pick a race a stick to it, but I never could and feel like I am running into that problem again. I personally like every race. So I always should do my best to decide what race to play before I do anything else.
But after that, what game would you play? WoL or HotS? And I mean this coming from a point of wanting to play this game at a high level. Would you rather just dive into HotS, and learn the game there? Or would you rather play WoL and become good there before switching over to HotS when it officially comes out? This is something I can't fully decide as of yet. I mean, you can dive deep into HotS and mess around there and come up with builds, or I could sit in WoL and learn what really does work and become a decent player there. I mean, you can look at a lot of HotS games, and see that people just seem to test random things, and mess around. But if you look at WoL, more games are normal and don't really have that screwing around that much.
Either way, I don't know. I just kind of wanted to rant more than anything, but I always want to hear what people think about the 2 games. Thanks fro reading either way
