Your team has successfully secured a back to back victory in GSTL finals. Tell us how you feel.
GuMiho> I always lack confidence in the booth so today's victory means so much to me. From now on, I will go into every match with full confidence.
Choya> I can't tell you how great it feels to win this title twice in a row. Even players find it hard to get two badges but look at me now.
The first game of the day was between theBest and Vampire. The verdict was that it was a rather weak start to the match
Choya> theBest is fantastic in practice. Some fans doubt his skill but he has proven himself over and over again in practice and that is why I sent him out. It's true GuMiho, Tear and Leenock form the foundation of this team but I have sent out everyone on the entry list plenty of times. That is how much I believe in my team's skill.
It became a back and forth match that lasted till the sixth set
Choya> We came in expecting a hard fight. I didn't ask for unreasonable performance from Lucky and Tear, our second and third players. However, GuMiho certainly stepped up. My personal wish is that he also starts winning individual leagues.
Tell us how you formed your line-up
Choya> I tried to balance out the races. I usually consider finer details but I took a different approach for the finals. Starting with Set 2, the focus was entirely on sniping specific players. I want to thank Supreme and Hell for helping me form this game plan.
You first had to face Monster. Your team was behind 2:3 so did this not worry you at the time?
GuMiho> That was the game that worried me the most. The three maps I prepared for were Ohana, Entombed Valley and Grand Lagoon. However, two had already been used so I had to choose Grand Lagoon which I considered the worst choice. I was definitely worried as I went into the game but I believe my preparation prevailed.
The two following maps Muspelheim and Whirlwind were maps you had not prepared for so did they give you a hard time?
GuMiho> I still had up to two strategies for every map so it wasn't a big problem. Rather, I thought it was MVP that was starting to feel the heat. After beating Keen, I felt like all that was waiting for me was crushing Sniper.
Against Keen, the game turned into an elimination race
GuMiho> I quite often go gas first so I somewhat expected him to do a proxy rax and once there was no scouting SCV, I became certain. At that point, I was ready to take the win.
Having to take multiple kills must have put pressure on you
GuMiho> I am always reluctant to go into the booth. The pressure does get to me. However, once I'm inside, those feelings go away. I couldn't see anything except the game. I must be getting used to it.
It's about time you post some individual league results, don't you agree?
GuMiho> I used to feel no pressure in individual leagues. Then, as I started doing well in team leagues, the opposite happened in individual leagues. Like I said, I think I'm finally ready to focus on the game properly. Expect me to post some results in the near future.
A lot of attention was given to the possible game between IPL 5 champion Leenock and GSL Season 5 champion Sniper
Choya> I was hoping GuMiho would take out Sniper and end it. He lost to him a year ago because Terran had been heavily nerfed at the time but I guess the recent nerf to Zerg reversed the situation (laugh)
You must want more from next season. Tell us your goals and determinations
Choya> I never expected to win last season or even this season. I told my players that second place was a great accomplishment already so they didn't need to feel too pressured and just do what we had prepared. Doing well in teamleague makes me grateful as the coach but I hope they go into the individual league with confidence and do well. We are now a top team with back to back GSTL titles. I want them to remember this fact with pride and show what they are really capable of in the individual leagues.
Anything to add?
Choya> I want to thank Startale and LG-IM who helped with preparation. I will treat them for sure. I want to thank our sponsors FXO, Twitch, Razer and Gom TV. Before the match, my parents told me that they believed in us which gave me a boost. I want to let them know that I am always grateful for hteir support. Everyone on our team worked so hard and I promise that they will sweep the individual leagues with great performance next year and solidify our position as the best Starcraft 2 team.
GuMiho> I want to thank my teammates who helped me improve so much through practice. I hope those of us who haven't done well in official matches so far have their hard work rewarded with great results. I think I owe today's wins to a certain energy drink (laugh) I want to thank my parents who always support me.
