There's gonna be more to follow, but it'll be easier to follow. Maybe the old system was more fair, but unless you're really into it, it was harder to follow

ro24 OSL: 6 groups of 4, round robin = 6 games, * 6 groups = 36 games wildcards: 6 3rd places players = 6 games? total 42. this is assuming no tiebreakers, which would push up the game count even more. ro32 MSL: 8 groups of 4, 5 games per group (2 initial games, winners bracket, losers bracket, final) = 40 games then both formats are down to 16 players. so we get more players, games that count for more, and still a manageable number of games.

Which is good for them, but eventually the groups lost their meaning because of this. Group stage is supposed to eliminate people, not to let them train. I hope this 32 men league remain simple, it might be hard to follow. But it's a nice thing, we'll get to see lots of faces, different styles, that should be good.

Following progaming will take even more time now. It will also increase VOD up-/downloading traffic. Same with coverage. Not that this was of any concern for me, but it has to be considered.

If the tourney is a top 32 instead of top 16, we can still see faces like Reach and Kingdom more easily and maybe even Zeus. Yellow can also lose around 32 too, etc. In short, having more players also means more familiarity in a way... and in a way a lot more no namers too...
