It had been years since the last time Princess Peach was kidnapped, and though there was still the occasional goombah sighting, everything was basically back to normal. But, everyone knew that Bowser was just licking his latest wounds, biding his time until he hatches some new evil scheme. Mario and Luigi were out on a job taking care of a Piranha Plant infestation in the Warp Pipes in World 6 when they heard someone running towards them. "Mario...*gasp*....Luigi......" "What's up Toad? Did you run here the whole way from Toad Town?" asked Mario. He takes a minute to catch his breath. "Yes. Its gone - Toad Town I mean. All of it. Bowser is back." "Shit, I'm sorry man. Okay, get to the castle, and we'll round everyone up. This time we fight, once and for all." Back at the castle, things were in a state of organized chaos. Ramparts were being manned, portcullises slammed shut, armor and weapons were being doled out, and all the people were scurrying about. The next morning, the Mushroom Kingdom army marched out onto the plains to await Bowser. The atmosphere was tense, as everyone waited for the inevitable. On the morning of the third day on the plains, a trumpet sounded out from across the field. Mario and Luigi walked to the front lines, and looked out across the plains at the vastness of the army that approached them. They were awed, but not scared. They had the home field advantage. Mario looked over at his brother. "It's time. See you on the other side?" And so it began. Day is starting a bit early, but the deadline will still be 02:00 GMT (+00:00).
