I should also say that an improved mech in TvP was a goal many months ago. This may not be the goal in the future if we find that improved mech in TvP makes the game less diverse or is not fun for some other reason. We reserve the right to abandon this goal at any time if it proves to be destructive to the game.
I really hope that they don't give up on this. :/

I don't think it needs any new units. Morrow is making it work easily. You just need to add ghosts vs P and it's already (mass tank) viable in TvT and TvZ.
I just think the widow mine needs a buff, but David Kim said that on the HoTS forum too so hopefully in a few days it'll happen.

idk, you will need a lot of rax and factories to add ghost with mech, and it is a gas-intensive comp
ghost will eventully die and you need to replace it and without a good number of rax to reproduce/keep producing ghost, mech seems a little too gimmicky to play with
also ghosts won't have upg since you are upgrading mech
idk, i'm confused right now, on how they think to "move" terran in hots

Why would you need a lot of Ghosts with upgrades? You need like 6-7 of them, and you can make them easily in the late game(where you actually need Ghosts) with 2-3 Barracks. At least that is what Morrow is doing.

i've mentioned upg for ghosts because i fear 0/0 ghost will die too fast in late game vs upgraded units
idk, the beta has a long way ahead, we'll see

Awesome news about the Carrier! I hope that it finds a niche in HOTS and that Blizzard is committed to keeping the unit or tweaking it to fit the desired role!

There's always an influx of minerals as mech, and spending 600-1200 gas over the course of a macro game on ghosts is probably very needed.
You can take bases quite fast as mech as well, it's harder to defend when you're spread out but you can really mass on orbitals with mech, so even if you take a 4th for a limited time you can mine it quite fast. Certain maps are very problematic with mech because the 4th is so far off and it's very hard to defend, you just gotta capitalize on your death army then I guess.
