To bring you a little bit of hype for Gambit's Cup 3, I'm going to be releasing blogs telling you why each team from the Gambit's Cup will take the title for Round 1.
Fox Gaming is a new team introduced to the Gambit's Cup which was intended to bring amateur players into the league and have the scene expand through the progression of their play. Fox Gaming would be considered by many as to be a low threat and perhaps even a non-threat which comes to be their biggest advantage.
In the end, Fox doesn't have a roster that is as deep as any others in the Gambit's Cup, however, by no means can we count them out. Given their low profile, it is likely that other teams show up with a half lineup as they have in the past for similar teams. When this comes into play, Fox Gaming will simply need good showings from Karate and Elena, both players capable of taking games off of anyone. Of course, there is no arguing that they will primarily be reliant on Fox.Karate to earn them some all-kills, however, this is not terrible bet.
Fox.Karate was one of the top players from the original Gambit's Cup who hasn't really participated since he left Nb team. He can be the deciding factor which will bring Fox Gaming to the very top of the standings especially given the winner's league format. Karate not only has the element of surprise working for him which will wear off in time, but he also has the Terran factor. Quite simply, there is a huge lack of foreign Terrans and opportunities to improve against Terran players for foreigners. With that being said, vsT becomes the worse match up of a grand majority of foreigners. With this added bonus, there is no doubt that Fox.Karate should be able to pull off some nifty all-kills.
Fox.V-Gundam and Fox.Elena provide the primary supporting cast for this team, they will forever be in the shadow of Karate and there is no possible way that they can get the job done without their ace player. With that being said, though V-Gundam and Elena may not be able to fill that top player position, they really don't have to. It would be entirely sufficient to simply take games off of better players which is entirely viable. This could involve sniping high threats for Fox.Karate and/or cleaning up the remainder if he happens to lose. Regardless of the position, with their nifty strategic play among other talents, these two players are perfectly suited for their position and can take games off of any player on a good day.
Continuing down this tiered system, we have Fox.RuSh, Fox.LML and Fox.White. These players are likely not to be counted on to a great extent during the winners format, however, they are all capable of taking games off top players. With wins against players such as Fenito, Choosy and TopStar, these players are also serious competitors which are not to be taken lightly.
Fox.Dsyxelic, Fox.Quirinus, Fox.Poetic, Fox.Mewka, Fox.Reclusive, Fox.Kiva and Fox.S2Glow present what could be referred to as the tertiary support cast. It is very unlikely for any of these players to really take games off of top line ups from other teams and though they can, they are not the players that Fox really wants to be reliant on. It has to be said however, that though this list is introduced as an unlikely group to tak wins, it has to be taken into account that no team should be counting on their lower tiered players if they are looking to win and Fox does have the capacity to win without this group which can be looked at more so as a prospect group for next season.
Fox.ihufa is listed separately from the rest for the sole reason that when he puts his mind to practice, he can accomplish five hundred+ games in a month, there is really no denying that with this type of gaming, he has to be classified as a dark horse which could emerge very successfully at any time. passing from D to C+ in a matter of a couple months, it's a guarantee that he can move up higher if he really decides to. This will be a huge asset to Fox Gaming if he does turn out.
Fox.Fold is another one of their top prospects and another sleeper. He doesn't seem to be too threatening, however, as said for ihufa... He could be vastly underestimated.
Fox.NoisE and Fox.EleGant are the management crew for this team and while they are not the most likely to provide on the scene at the clan war itself, they will have to be on the ball in terms of organization and getting their top players to show day in and day out. If they can keep Karate, Elena and V-Gundam going to each clan war and maintain practice for the remainder of the crew, Fox can definitely find themselves climbing up to the top.
Another thing to take note of is that though he doesn't appear on the roster, Fox.Shimy is likely to be involved in with the team itself even if not it's interactions with the league. He assembled the team and is likely to be able to get his players organized for the most part as he is already highly respected among it's members due to his work with ASL and CRO.
In the end, Fox Gaming is in no way favored to win Gambit's Cup 3 Round 1, however, it is not too distant or far fetched to imagine them moving their way up and taking it in the end. There is of course no easy path for them, it is not majorly worked out and it will require utmost dedication from their top players, however, it is possible to see Fox Gaming place perhaps third at which point they will be entered into what can, to say the least, be called a very volatile playoff which of course has every possibility of an upset.
