Seriously looking forward to coming back next year for the S4 finals (but here's to hoping the weather behaves better next time!).
While the rest of the photos upload for R1CH and the Liquipedia staff to play with, I'd like to highlight three photos I got today that feel like they actually tell a story.
Technical reasons led me to process this photo as black and white, but I'm hoping that doesn't detract too much from the moment. Everyone is huddled around a tiny 7" preview screen in amazement during what I believe was something during game 2 of Scarlett vs Ostojiy.
Technical tl;dr:

ISO102400, guys. It's serious business. I've used ISO51200 before at a couple MLG events to capture players autographing things for their fans off in the wings where light just sucked, but every time it helps me get a shot like this, I'm glad my camera can go even faster. The trade-off, of course, is noise. Tons and tons of it. So much that it's easier to handle in B&W (read: kill it with nukes instead of finesse). Absolutely unacceptable for studio work, but for photojournalistic work where the moment is everything, nothing beats being able to get the shot.
You'll rarely hear me say this, but I didn't feel the need to care about motion blur here. Or the imperfect focus. Or the guy's head in the lower right. Even with champagne spray everywhere, the message on everyone's faces is crystal clear.
Probably more abstract and context-dependent than all the other shots I took today. I saw this out of the corner of my eye just as I turned around to head out of the venue. The NASL producer carrying his champion out of the venue on his back.

Last but not least, see you all at MLG in Raleigh and TSL. Still unclear whether I'll be at that IPL battlegrounds in SF early August because of a time conflict with my day job, but I'll be there if it all works out.
