FML. Broke my computer. I whole-heartedly blame this on all the stupid cheesers on iccup. make me rage so hard, slammed my fists on the computer, and broke it. We'll, kinda. My friend got openSUSE/ubuntu onto it, so I mean I guess I have internet (though connecting to wireless is painful, so I'm using ethernet right now). But downloading everything that I used to have? Pain in the ass. Half the stuff I can't even download.
The format for downloading looks something like this: Find file. Save file (can't run it or else apper becomes a bitch and doesn't open) Go to Install/Remove Program. Type in Program Find it (half the time, like Skype, it won't even freaking be there). Accept (AKA download).
It's a pain. And the worst part. It's all my fault. I don't know what to tell my parents (we live in NJ and I'm in Cali right now). TBH, vista was the most garbage piece of junk I've ever used. Vista is worse than XP (aren't they shutting down the XP stuff now?) And I've wanted to upgrade to W7 (though playing BW on there is a bitch I heard with the problems it has). Seriously, I just want a Windows computer I'm familiar with and know how to download stuff on. Not some BS method on a program I don't use and never will. I don't know what to do right now, it's 2am, I'm tired and really frustrated.
What do you guys think I should do? Just call my dad or mom up and say that the computer is broken? Basic consequences in a nutshell, they would go ape shit on me and never let me do anything ever again, scream at me for a couple of hours (I'm so bored of their yelling I've actually gone to timing how long one "lecture" is), or not buy me a new one and tell me to deal with it and that I got myself into this mess. TT.TT
TL:DR My computer is broken, but semi-fixed with weird program that I hate, want new computer but afraid of parents reaction(s).
Good night.

How did your computer suddenly work by reinstalling linux?
It probably wasn't broken rofl. Just install windows 7 anyway.

Uhh, what? Could you be more specific? I don't get how you can break a whole computer with one punch. Which part is broken? The hard drive I'm guessing? Is it a laptop?

That's gotta suck bro. I can't even imagine rebuilding my music library again. Just asking, are you a music fan and did you have an extensive library?
If you want to rebuild a library w/ some high quality audio files, PM me.

Hahaha. Next time you rage, hit yourself like I do ^^ I think you're overreacting a bit, it's just a computer. If your parents won't buy you a new one, earn some money and buy it yourself.

Does that mean you won't be able to play tomorrow? And you could/should have played with our team...

I definitely agree with you that Vista is absolute shit; XP was definitely the best Windows OS, 7 is somewhat better than Vista I guess
How is it broken...? Or rather, if it is broken, what needs to be fixed?
Hopefully you've learned your lesson on raging and whatnot. If you're dependent on your parents, I'd recommend being straight-forward about it and telling them you broke your computer. (I think it's a good life-lesson for everyone to understand the consequences of our actions)

Considering op KO'ed his computer in one punch it has to be a laptop . I know laptops are very fragile there is one time my 3 year old cousin just slam his fist on my laptop and it turned off never to be working again until I found there is a loose memory card after inspecting it . I think it's better you come clean and tell your parents the truth and despite it being painful as you have to listen to the lecture and screaming at least you will learn from this experience and know that raging on your "one and only " laptop is a no go .

basically, i slammed my fist onto the bottom right portion of the laptop (the part just a bit lower than the keyboard, and right of the touchpad). computer stopped working, i tried to restart it, wouldn't turn on. heard clicking in that area (the readwrite im guessing).
w.e. i'll just tell my dad, he's more understandable than my mom.
coughing, i'll be there. there's another computer in the house that i can use (already trying to get used to it. ill see if i can get iccup onto this shit tier opensuse... though its gonna be a bitch installing.
