What are your favorite composers and/or musicians?  Beethoven and Schubert are top two without a doubt. Mostly listen to romantic era symphonies and piano works. Really good performer of Chopin. Yeah his Chopin is not bad. I really like his performance of the Schumann and Grieg piano concertos with Karajan as well as the Liszt concertos, and also some of his Brahms. I want to see him live, but considering his refusal to appear in America now, won't be happening any time soon =P Decent Beethoven piano concerto set with Bernstein too.
Yeah indeed, hope he one day decides to perform live in the states once again  I massively prefer live performances to studio recordings obviously; recordings these days really take the magic out of performance, in fact iirc it was Zimerman who said this, I thnk he refuses to do recordings too?
The beginning of Chopin's 2nd movement of his 2nd concerto is one of the greatest passages in all of music imho even though the orchestration is nothing special and pisses some conductors off XP
Hm...do you have any specific pieces you like as well? That (only the piano part and second movement though keke) and Waldstein (the entire sonata) are two of my favorites~ kyaaa didn't know csheep was a connoisseur of classical music ^\\\\^

Really interesting story with the girl running around o__o and damn I really wish I were able to go to that mall heh. Recently visited Shanghai as well and there were a few absolutely stunning girls there, it was crazy. Most of them were taken though unfortunately (not that I would have hit on them or anything, boyfriend or not).
