Also there is more frames in unit movement behavior so you need to watch out more and its harder to distinguish whats happening.

Anyways, UI wise there is no difference between BW and SC2 UI though since BW usually uses LAN latency while SC2 uses a unified 200ms latency to prevent lag from influencing the game, it might feel different for the unit control.

SC2's gameplay is way smoother than Brood War's. Also like somebody already mentioned, the pathfinding is almost perfect. They have admittedly done an excellent job with the 3d engine, used in a game that runs best on a 2D engine. My only gripe about the feel of SC2: It's sometimes hard to judge air unit distances from certain angles. Also, enemy cloaked units are almost impossible to see, unlike Brood War where you saw a quite distinct blur.

I think it's the forced latency.

Maybe to a nice pretty flower or something?? That guy's head is so huge, and the way he's riding a miniature rocket while he bites his lip, I don't know its just kind of unsettling. Aww you don't like Cartoon Sagan? Changed it to the Orion Nebula, anyway :D

But to respond to the fluff part have you tried dropping all the graphics to lowest to remove the visual clutter / textures? I find that between that and setting a steady FPS I was able to follow everything that was going on much smoother.
