With season 8 impending, i still havent decided on a race to use consistently and to develop my gameplay. Season 7 has been my first in SC2 (check my other blog post for details) and ive had some success on the ladder, early on as protoss and lately as zerg (i suck so badly as Terran!). Ive been on a bit of a losing streak as Zerg, as i just cant seem to win once i hit the late game! So i decided to take Protoss for a run out again and boy......what a mistake that was!
9 games later, i had played against 9 other protoss players! Thats enough PvP to drive anybody insane! It really started to grate on my i was simply playing so many mirror matches! Its made me question whether Protoss are the race for me, with so many other low levels rolling them! Is it an easy win using protoss in wood league? Or are they just a great race to play, i cant quite decide, but i certainly think ill be leaving them well alone for Season 8!
With Season 8 impending i am looking forward to it a great deal! I am hoping to secure my passage out of wood league. Whilst not great, i certainly think i am good enough to be playing in silver league next season and hopefully, ill get good enough that i may be able to push a gold player or two! Im also hoping to rise up in my 2v2 team too! I managed to convince a friend to begin playing the game, and have done really rather well in bronze league, even managing to beat a few gold player teams!

I don't think it's just low level. I played 22 master level ladder games yesterday and 14 of them were PvPs. Same deal a couple of days before although I didn't bother counting those. Good thing PvP is my best matchup :D

I know ZvP is by far the most common matchup for me the last couple weeks, I'd say its about 50%vP, 30vZ and 20vT

It seems like many Zergs are switching to Protoss recently, and some Terrans too. If you can't live with >1/3 of your games being the same match-up (be it ZvZ, PvP, or whatever) I suggest playing as Random.

lol I'm a zerg who just switched to Protoss. I don't mind PvP it always ends quickly and its a lot less stressful than ZvZ

Woot! Just finished my placement match and it saw fit to stick me in Silver!!!! Absolutely delighted!!! Aim is promotion to gold before Season 9! Now if only Filtersc will release some more Zerg vids i should be fine!
