This is probably my favorite hoodie in all of StarCraft 2, on my favorite player.
Why do I love t-shirts so much? It’s not that I’m a fashion snob but that I am a diehard metalhead and StarCraft 2 fan. The two are related because, for me, being a metalhead and being an SC2 fan are both more like lifestyles than hobbies. I don’t just love to play StarCraft 2, I write about it and attend as many LAN tournaments as possible. I proudly wear both my TeamLiquid Steel t-shirt alongside my other amazing band shirts. I want to show off my love in the t-shirts I wear. And I like to support the bands/teams by buying merchandise.
When I go shows, one of my favorite things is to hit up the merch booths to see what new things I can buy to flaunt. Whenever I go to LAN tournaments, I try to check out all the stuff being sold as well. But the thing is, I’ve never really seen team merch booths at competitions. MLG has a booth where they sell MLG t-shirts but why not different teams? TeamLiquid claims that they’ve sold 5000 shirts so far. I believe that they could easily sell 500-1000 shirts in an MLG weekend. When I was at MLG Columbus, EG’s SirScoots tweeted that if you met up with him early Saturday morning, you could get a free team jersey from him. People ate it up and were running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to get one of like 10 t-shirts. I bet EG could have a line all weekend at their booth if they brought some merchandise. Especially since they have a t-shirt sponsor, I could see EG easily having an extremely successful merchandising booth.
How awesome would it be if you attended a competition and when someone said, “Huk will be signing autographs at X booth at 3 pm.” And you could go and buy an EG jersey for him to sign. Or if Idra wins and everyone snaps up Release the Gracken shirts so show support. I know I would buy so many impulse shirts if they were available.
