I would say 60/40 ratio would be optimum. That doesn't really accurately look at quality properly, just because I make a video once a week doesn't mean i put more then 30 minutes into it, the youtubers you describe are usually just winning with popularity contests rather then some for of quality/quantity. I think better examples would be Freddie Wong and Epic Meal Time vs these groups. A lot more prepration goes into make each and every episode making them higher quality. You could say that those youtuber dont really relate to the blogging debate but really quality vs quantity is a overarching them in life. So with blogging, even if you make 1 blog a month doesn't nessecarily mean you spend that whole month preparing that blog, likewise with 1 blog a week. With blogging i'd say a certain degree of quality must be met, but just because you have that degree of quality doesn't make you an intresting blogger. If I wrote an amazing ground breaking article into quantum physics, It wouldn't appeal to almost 99% of the world population. Depending on what your goals are you'll have to chose a lot of factors more then just do i want this to be a quality piece or do i want to make a large quantity of pieces?

That aside, as you have said, balance is far and away (not always 50/50, but a balanced approach) the most important thing when making this kind of judgement on something like Blogging.

The obvious answer is that I'm better! Quality is always better than quantity in my opinion. Focusing on one aspect to be great is far better than generalized normality. Specification is next to godliness (not cleanliness).
