So I want to preface this by saying that I learned about Starcraft 2 in August of 2010 and started watching various sc2 casts done by Husky and HD. I found sc2 to be absolutely amazing to watch and so in January I decided to buy the game itself. Now once I started the game I immediately tried out the multiplayer and it was just so cool to be able to finally play the game I had been watching for over 5 months.
Fast forward to today, I have been reading a little abotu Broodwar history and my cousin convinced me I really wanted to play the game. So I bought the game (only $15 usd on battle.net) and after about half an hour of downloading I logged in and played my very first BW game!
I decided to go as terran- cuz hey marines always seems to be imba. My cousin picked protoss.
It was my first game, so hey, i thought he would go easy on me. I could not have been more wrong...
He cannon rushed me! wtf... I did not even notice his cannon contain on me for like 5 minutes.. anyways wel that was that..
Broodwar is pretty cool, albeit the graphics take a while to get used too. Long live Starcraft!

Cannon rushing a newb is cruel 
Mech is usually the way to go against Protoss, but I hope you play a few more games. The nice thing about BW is it's really easy to recruit other people in real life... particularly with the no cd patch. And then you just balance out the teams according to skill. 2v1, off-race, terran no tank. Whatever it takes to get a fun, competitive game. LAN nights are the best with BW.

When my friends and I were getting into bw quite a few years ago, one of our friends wanted to play, so my mate vsed him as terran. He put down tonnes of spider mines and nuked him a few times

hehe when I played my first multiplayer game of my very first day with the game, after playing a few single player matches and secretly reading all the guides on TL and my brother wanted to play with me after I had been watching him for years(I know all your strats bro ^^). I had learned that he hated cheese and that he rages about it a lot so I decided not to cheese him. Instead I went mass expanding all over the map and I attacked him and had to deal with lurkers. I forgot detection  . However, I still won ^^. To this day he has not won 1 game against me.

I thought he was going to proxy 2 gate like a real man cuz that's just how bnet roles.
