I am unsure if he meant cosmology or if he really meant cosmetology because there is quite a difference...and it really messes up his analogy if he meant the former.
Anyway, LoL is best played with a team being that it is a team game.

LoL and SC2 are completely different games with completely different goals and playstyles. You can't compare the two anymore than you can compare checkers and Call of Duty. If you want to play SC2 over LoL, go ahead, but LoL is just as hard to play as SC2, just in different ways. Don't try to justify you being bad at LoL by saying it's a flawed game, just stop playing it.
Oh, and by the way, HotshotGG, saintvicious, and a couple other high ranking players have proven time and time again that you will get where you belong in the elo system, period. They have carried games literally 1v5 to win from 0 elo all the way back up to 2200ish. Yes, you lose some games no matter what you do, but it's the same in SC2, you make a large mistake, it'll cost you the game. In LoL, a bad enough mistake will cost the game, funnily enough, they're the same.
Matchmaking in both games makes it so you have a 50% win ratio, so yes, in both games you're going to lose, period. make a Lol account. play only Support. Get to your previous ELO. gogogo. Yeah this dude named Nhat Nguyen, you know, he played support on an extra account, all the way from 0 elo right back up to 2000.
Crazy isn't it?
Love the LoL hate around here. HoN may or may not be a superior game, but when reddit starts acting like humans before TL, that's fucking sad. Reddit HoN and LoL playerzs made peace a couple weeks ago, and are now coexisting.peacefully. DoTA2 is exactly the same way. Which game is better, SC2 or BW? WC3 or BW? Dune 2 or Homeworld? Can't do this shit, they all have their good points. I actually started on HoN, and moved over to LoL, because it's simply more fun, while maintaining almost the same level of skill required.
I don't really give a shit about anyone's opinion about LoL, HoN, DoTA2, DoTA, SC2, BW. Whatever you want to think, feel free, but I like all those games. Hell, I like Dwarf Fortress, you want a fucking UI that fights you harder than any enemies in the game, go play that. All of them are fun, and all have good and bad points. Play what you want and stop fighting over it.
Fanboys are like Jehovah's Witnesses almost. Play my game or you burn in hell.

I haven't played a lot of lol, but in hon/dota, you will get to the mmr you belong at, no matter what, though it might take you longer if you're playing support since you can't change the outcome of a game on your own, but it's very possible. A good example is that I remember watching chu (hon pro, probably one of the better ones, too), go carry glacius (crystal maiden in dota) and demolish games at ~1800 mmr. I also remember remember him getting a new account where he'd only pick strong solo heroes like hag and soulstealer (qop and sf in dota) and having 100% winrate up until like 1940 mmr or something, solo queueing
For reference, you start at 1500 mmr and I guesstimate the average rating for a pro is roughly 1900.
Saying that it doesn't matter how good you are at lol/hon/dota, because it's a team based game anyway is REALLY stupid. There are 4 other player slots on your team, which means there's a possibility for 4/9 of the other players in the team to be bad, and there's 5 other player slots on the other team, which means there's a possibility for 5/9 of the players on the other team to be bad. If you deserve to be higher rated than you currently are, your rating will keep increasing because the probability of the other team being bad is bigger than the probability of your team being bad. Obviously you may get unlucky and have bad streaks with lots of bad players, but according to probability, you are going to get back up to where you belong sooner or later, as long as you play enough games. If you've been stuck at the same rating for a long time now, chances are, you're one of those bad players to the players who are still advancing, and you belong right where you are.
I probably worded that badly, but I think it should get the point across.

Came out alright if you ask me.
Like others have said, there isn't a problem with the system, it's more likely an issue with you.
Me and a few friends of mine played thousands of games of hon, they had a hard time accepting they were 1600 players because when playing with me we would get back to 1700 =/
Fix the mentaility and you'll likely improve a bit.
If you're trying to improve, choosing the hardest game would benefit you the most, Broodwar. Apples and oranges in this case doesn't matter as much because of plenty of interchangeable skills.
But from the sounds of your problem your difficulties are communication based and if you think you've hit a wall in LoL play with friends or play some dota2 =D

I don't get it...
OP is basically bitching that LoL is a team game and SC2 isn't?
Um...

What ? you are supposed to play LoL with team-mates ? but srsly LoL is a great game if you play it with people you know. its ok to play Tenis if you are not a team based player. not everyone has to play football

I took a break for the game simply because i got frustrated by the whole Game. I Recently moved back to Starcraft 2 in the search of actually getting good at one game... Lol wasnt going to be it. When looking at the two games in general SC2 is going to be the game that you would want to get better at. Why? simply because there are too many compents in League Of Legends that the player is not control of, where as Starcraft 2 you are literally in Charge of every unit available on your side of the game. This is a key point to note, if you invest time in league of legends the time spent getting better will not win you games if your team isnt good. In contrast if you spend time in StarCraft 2 you will find you will win more often simply because you are a good player. Point made is this Sc2 allows you to win if you are a good player, Lol dosent provide the same opportunity because it is a team oriented game... you may be the best player in the world but if your team sucks your not going to win. it can be argued that you can lead your team to victory by comunication... but really the community of lol is left lacking because every player is so critical and ignorant to realize hey maybe the team should be on the same page as far as gameplay goes. the politics and the wide scale of varying skill in a given game in lol is all together a flawed system when compaired to Sc2.
You are comparing 2 different genres , and also your point is invalid. If u invest time into LoL , you will get better , get highier elo and get matched with decent teammates most of the time ( meaning 2k+ ). I have 270 ranked games currently played this season in LoL and i am in the top 100 euw ranking. I have total of 1400 games played , i asure you that if i play 1400 games in SC2 i wont be top 100 eu , which is a bullshit comparison. But since your arguement or whatever rant this blog is bullshit i cant think of any other decent analogy.LoL is much easier game and if u arent good at it , you will never be any good in sc2 , trust me.
Comparing a 1v1 game vs 5v5 game is just pointless. Go on and play 4v4 in sc2 im sure you will lose due to teammates even tho you did good.

Why do I never learn? Nothing good has ever come from the 100+ blogs on the same topic.
You'd think I'd know better and stay the fudge away but nooo....

I knew nothing good could come from with a blog title like this.

I like LoL for relaxing, its a great game that is well put together, that relies on teamwork, that being said, people that feed might as well screw your team over. SC2 is much more demanding, not as demanding as BW but still very demanding, and therefore is a much better competitive game . Also since SC2 is all you, you can see the fruits of your labor more than most other times.

I mean, no offense, but you're probably just bad.
I felt the same way but reversed about SC2 when I first started, simply because I didn't know the myriad things I *could* be doing at any time.
You really can't compare solo queue LoL to solo queue SC2, it's apples to oranges. Imagine queueing random 4v4's in SC2 and trying to take it seriously... the only thing you could do would be work on your own build orders and mechanics. To experience decent LoL, you need to queue with a team.
However, there actually really is an answer for this SC2 vs LoL question!
SC2 is a better game if you want to play by yourself, and LoL is a better game if you want to queue with a team.

He just said that he plays to relax, do you think he's going to spend the time to get good? Lol.
As for OP, yeah its a team game and tbh more often than not it sucks...but thats why you duo ranked or something. :p

Best player in the world hm? Well no. The best players in the world have again and again proven that they can get any smurf account well past 2k elo in fewer than 300 games. Can't do it? That's because you're not a pro. Your elo fluctuates within 150 points of your real elo, just like theirs do. It's ridiculous that people can't deal with this and whine randomly.

I love watching LoL commercials when they show the player's keyboards and their fingers are barely moving, it's so funny cause it's contrasted by epic flashing and loud music and zooming in and out and in and out making it seem like there's a lot of motion.

lol, all this talk about SC2 being a fun game to play by yourself is really really funny.

I love LoL because I can play with friends and I personally am just much more relaxed when I play it than when I have to play 1v1s in SC2. Idk why OP is getting so much hate, some of what he said is true, I mean you can be really good at LoL but if your team is bad then it's hard to win regardless of how well you play whereas with SC2 1v1 you aren't getting any help from anyone. Yeah they are different games, doesn't mean he shouldn't compare them lol.
