Yes because one player left the team due to lack of support we suddenly have a trend. Also CatZ said that Naniwa's salary was three times his, that's not exactly rewarding people for getting stream views equally to winning. Of course CatZ could of lied but then it's just Naniwas word against his.

Naniwa's statements in regards to the value of Catz's stream views vs his own accomplishments were stated to be false by Catz. In addition to that, most NA only teams don't have an international level team, NA just doesn't have those caliber of players at the moment. You really have no idea how Complexity values achievement vs exposure or if that's really affected their NA team. Way to pull everything out of your ass. Oh come on. We all know Naniwa was telling the truth and popularity is more important than skill. Oh well, that's how the world works. There's a reason Zenex is sponsorless and poor while coL has plenty of money to throw around. It's called marketing. Yeah, maybe it sucks, but the fact still stands that players who are well-liked in the west are the most marketable, and the US is by far the world's most lucrative target market. It stands to reason that sponsors want to go after teams with significant fanbases in the US (and Europe to a slightly lesser extent) as opposed to far more talented, but less exposed players in Korea. Money makes the world turn...

I suppose it's too optimistic to hope this ends up being another one of col's 24 hour deals at this point.

Money makes the world turn... ZeNEX started after the release of SC2. coL's been around for years (early 2000s) and has been successful in the past in other gaming divisions. It's no wonder they have more money to throw around.

Money makes the world turn... Yes, we all know that money comes from sponsors and sponsors like exposure, but this is universal for all teams. Not sure what amazing truth you think you're attributing to Naniwa, the question was how much each is valued, and Naniwa's claims in regards to his achievements vs Catz's stream views were denied by Catz. So, we don't all "know" that Naniwa was telling the truth. I don't want to side-track this thread massively, so lets stop now. There's no need to try and fling shit in an announcement thread by stupidly extrapolating a single sentence that wasn't even directly relating to the player announced.
