UPDATE 2:

Today we're excited to announce the third new member of compLexity StarCraft 2. He joins coL.NaDa and coL.Heart on a roster we are confident will make waves in 2012.

This Korean protoss needs no introduction and will not come as a surprise to most astute observers. He has a solid history in both SC:BW and SC2. We're confident he will continue to be a major force in the game and will assist us in achieving our lofty goals.

Please welcome Shin Sang Ho (aka Killer) to the compLexity family!

UPDATE:

Today, as promised, we're very excited to announce the second of our three new teammates. He may not have the legendary track record and reputation of coL.NaDa but we are just as excited as we honestly believe he has the skill, work ethic and dedication to become a top player in the world.

Please welcome Kim Min Hyuk aka Heart to compLexity.SC2!

coL.Heart is a Terran player who had Broodwar roots and was most recently with TSL in Korea. While researching Korean players his name was consistently mentioned as someone we should keep an eye on. Just over a week ago he defeated Bomber 2-1 in GSL and coincidentally contacted us asking about opportunities in compLexity. We knew then it was time to bring him into the family to bolster our presence in the region. We're happy to have him as a teammate and are looking foward to his Code A match next week.

Please welcome Heart here!

Tomorrow we announce the third addition to coL.SC2! Stay tuned!

Tonight we are thrilled to announce the first of our three new teammates. As 2012 dawned we were determined to bolster our current StarCraft 2 lineup with all-star talent. Although we are proud of our North American SC2 squad, our partnership with Team MVP and the developing players in the compLexity Academy, we felt it was time to expand our presence in Korea and increase our talent pool for major international events. We strongly believe our new brothers will help us accomplish this goal.

That being said, it takes no genius to realize there's a terran in the mix. If you want a renaissance or simply to stir up a tornado, there has consistently been one man for the job.

We are thrilled to announce Lee Yoon Yeol aka NaDa as the first of our new teammates.

For anyone who has followed StarCraft NaDa needs no introduction. His career started in 2003 and through much dedication and hard work he has become a household name in the industry. With his military service coming up in 2013 NaDa is determined to make his final mark as a player. We're confident his contributions will be substantial and we're honored to call such a legend our teammate.

While in Korea NaDa will join our partner Team MVP for GSTL. We're pleased to once again deepen our partnership with Coach Choi and his organization and are grateful for his continued assistance in the region. Tune in TONIGHT to watch MVP.coL take on FXOpen in Group A. (18:10 KST, 10:10 CET, 4:10 EST, 1:10 PST)

Welcome NaDa here!

coL seriously trolling with the silhouttes there. NaDa looked nothing like middle silhoutte.

if you went back 10 years ago. Told all the pros like incontrol idra artosis tastless day9 that in the future NADA freaking joins a foreigner team they would all laugh at you. amazing pick up for coL (kinda suprised they could afford him). Really wondering where all this money is coming from. They have 2 more players to announce.

Well, remember, Complexity were ready to offer Stephano a huge contract to play with them...but he ran back to Millennium. Then they had Naniwa...and that didn't work. So it's not like Complexity doesn't have money, but they haven't had anyone to use it on.

Massive news. Thing I don't understand though is that apparently at the MVP house like 12 people sleep in the side room with beds side to side to side, and from what I gather from the videos at the OGS house they have bunk beds and the like. Complexity must be paying him mega bucks, just wonder if at his age he's actually going to show results.

So, I guess there's no point analyzing the silhouettes since that middle one looked nothing like Nada's picture . This nuts though, will be very weird to see him play with MVP in the team league.

Colonel NaDa vs. Commander Keen.

Complexity has learned from the others and are using completely random silhouette's for their signings.
That being said, the other two players would either be two Koreans from MVP or two players from Reign (or a combination of the two)

Sick pickup. Nada started his career in 2001, not 2003. 2003 is when he started destroying everyone, but he's been around since almost the beginning.

Yes, Nada, with his long history of being antagonistic and non-comprimising attitude towards sponsors' and team's requests. I can see what you mean, he's definitely gonna flip off Jason Lake in a week and ride a motorcycle over to Quantic!

Who would've thought, 7-8 years ago, when he was winning his OSLs and MSLs that he would end up on coL.

We'll have to see what happens. As long as he's still training well, there's no reason that he'll drop heavily.

Oh my word. I just let out the girliest scream I've ever uttered when I saw this announcement. I blame NaDa's Body.

Congrats to NaDa and Complexity.

And it'll be funny to see what kind of shenanigans Keen will get into now that NaDa is on Mvp's partner team.

Well, remember, Complexity were ready to offer Stephano a huge contract to play with them...but he ran back to Millennium. Then they had Naniwa...and that didn't work. So it's not like Complexity doesn't have money, but they haven't had anyone to use it on.

True, but still gotta imagine a legend like NaDa probably costs more than stephano and naniwa combined, plus probably the rest of CoL's roster (I'm assuming they don't spend much on their current roster since none of them really have any achievements.)

So Nada to MVP?

I'm okay with this.

so by admitting their NA squad isnt up to international level is CoL basically admitting that naniwa was right all along, that rewarding people for getting stream views equally to rewarding winning, leads to a team that cant actually qualify to compete.

so how long before their new players get annoyed about lack of support and leave aswell?

Some massive leaps there, bro. Naniwa's statements in regards to the value of Catz's stream views vs his own accomplishments were stated to be false by Catz. In addition to that, most NA only teams don't have international level players, NA just doesn't have those caliber of players at the moment.

You really have no idea how Complexity values achievement vs exposure or if that's really affected their NA team. Way to pull everything out of your ass.

Wow, I hope Nada isn't in it for the easy cash that fxoboss stated that many koreans though foreign teams was, and is indeed looking to further motivate himself (as he said when he left oGs), because I really want Nada to be good :p.

Wow....Didn't figure it to be NaDa at all...and to think they announced him first. Would have figured he'd have been last, unless he's competing for them in GSTL tomorrow.

Not necessarily. Nada is a very good player, but guys like him and Boxer hold the majority of their value in their name: So many people know them. Ask any Korean and many of them will know who they are. Nada and Boxer are still very good players, but they stand out because of they are BW legends.

Not a team I was expecting him to join, but I hope this turns out well for him. If I understand correctly, he'll practice with team MVP which seems to be the hot team out there right now. Hope to see NaDa at more foreign events

Awesome pick up, ROOT was always my favorite team (along with Liquid' of course) and it's awesome to see them to go so far with being acquired by coL, then making an agreement with MVP, and picking up some incredible players!
Congratulations to coL and NaDa!

Yes because one player left the team due to lack of support we suddenly have a trend.

Also CatZ said that Naniwa's salary was three times his, that's not exactly rewarding people for getting stream views equally to winning. Of course CatZ could of lied but then it's just Naniwas word against his.

Oh well, that's how the world works. There's a reason Zenex is sponsorless and poor while coL has plenty of money to throw around. It's called marketing.

Yeah, maybe it sucks, but the fact still stands that players who are well-liked in the west are the most marketable, and the US is by far the world's most lucrative target market. It stands to reason that sponsors want to go after teams with significant fanbases in the US (and Europe to a slightly lesser extent) as opposed to far more talented, but less exposed players in Korea.

ZeNEX started after the release of SC2.

coL's been around for years (early 2000s) and has been successful in the past in other gaming divisions. It's no wonder they have more money to throw around.

Yes, we all know that money comes from sponsors and sponsors like exposure, but this is universal for all teams.

Not sure what amazing truth you think you're attributing to Naniwa, the question was how much each is valued, and Naniwa's claims in regards to his achievements vs Catz's stream views were denied by Catz. So, we don't all "know" that Naniwa was telling the truth.

I don't want to side-track this thread massively, so lets stop now. There's no need to try and fling shit in an announcement thread by stupidly extrapolating a single sentence that wasn't even directly relating to the player announced.

he want 1 player, he wasnt even their 'best' player.

he was their previous expansion into 'serious' starcraft. the first A class player their acquired. maybe its not a trend but its also the only time col has ventured into korea before. now naniwa has a history of being hard to work with but his point of not getting the support he felt a player like he deserved never seemed to be contested.

now nada is a bigger name than anyone col has had....ever. he will have expectations based on his value to them, based on the fact their have 2 more players to announce, im just suprised the naniwa thing went how it did.

Well if he had unrealistic expectations of what he deserved, that would sort of explain it. Let's not turn it into a Naniwa thread since that's really not relevant. Dignitas had previously refused to renew his contract, possibly because they felt his expectations were too high, or simply because he was hard to work with. The point is that one player (who has had a questionable team history) having trouble with a team, shouldn't have a major impact on your view of a team's ability to handle players.

No need to derail further.

he want 1 player, he wasnt even their 'best' player.

he was their previous expansion into 'serious' starcraft. the first A class player their acquired. maybe its not a trend but its also the only time col has ventured into korea before. now naniwa has a history of being hard to work with but his point of not getting the support he felt a player like he deserved never seemed to be contested.

now nada is a bigger name than anyone col has had....ever. he will have expectations based on his value to them, based on the fact their have 2 more players to announce, im just suprised the naniwa thing went how it did.

Their first venture into Korea was their partnership to MvP, you know the second oldest foreigner-korean partnership. A partnership that has had zero drama and has allowed amazing players such as DRG to play overseas in front of their foreign fans.

Also NaDa is in a different situation then Naniwa was in. From my understanding Naniwa was lonely because complexity wasn't sending any foreigner to Korea. I do not think NaDa will have that problem, he will also get to play in the GSTL with MvP. Every player is different, every situation is unique.
None but a coward dares to boast that he has never known fear.

win win for both parties. Nada gets to practice with MVP who's doing better than oGs currently. Nada probably got a huge amount of money to join Complexity. He gets to compete in easier foreign events. Complexity gets huge PR for signing Nada and makes sponsors happy.

Congratulations to both of them.

Nada on a foreign team is so surreal, though. Not bad at all, just really hard for me to get my mind around :/

Sick pickup by Complexity, but a sad day for NaDa, especially if the other two acquisitions aren't near his level, which I imagine they aren't.

Are you serious? NaDa is BAD! He isn't eben in the Top3 of Complexity. NaNi and SaSe are way better. NaDa hasn't won a GSL Match in some time. NaDa is exactly like Boxer! If you don't count their BW-Achievements, they have done NOTHING in SC2.

Always considered the possibility, but didn't really want it to happen. The fact that NaDa was streaming more makes sense now though. I believe that coL requires all their players to stream regularly.

Congratulations to NaDa and coL. Hoping to see NaDa in more foreign tournaments.

He isn't the best player by any stretch of the imagination, but to discredit NaDa's game sense and overall experience in eSports is silly. Look at the influence Boxer has had on the Slayers terrans.

ROFL wow hope everybody will crash the Complexity website and buy all their shit! The may be the last year we see NaDa play competitively! Unless he pulls a Nestea and comes back from Army and starts stomping nerds all over again! LOL I really think NaDa needed to leave a korean team if he wanted to give himself the best chance at winning a tournament. I expect Complexity to send him to every single possible offline LAN. Isn't he also a full-time student? I know for a fact he doesn't live in a team house or have as strict of a practice regimen as most Korean pros, so this makes sense for him. He gets paid a decent amount (probably more than decent tbh) and he can still practice at his leisure.

Yeah he already practices from home. Not to mention he could practice in the MvP house if he wanted.

While it seemed likley, it's still shocking to see the actual announcement. That being said, I'm really happy about this, and I really hope NaDa can pickup the major win he's shooting for :D

I wonder why people are saying he joined a bad team? They need to understand that they still have to announce 2 more Koreans this week which should boost the skill in their team a bunch! I'm still thinking its going to be Dragon and Killer joining.

With no ACE equivalent in SC2 he'd be taking a 2 year break, which is an eternity in SC2 time.

We don't want to set false expectations. NaDa is an old school legend who's hard to top. We're very excited about our next announcements but NaDa was announced first because Team MVP requested it so he could join them for GSTL tonight.

Perfect choice for NaDa, he gets to play with team MVP and stay in the GSTL, while also getting more of an opportunity to play in foreign tournaments than he seemed to have at oGs.

I think it's hard for the KR scene to take off when the stars keep joining foreign teams.

of course, I'm not saying coL is doing anything wrong here. Nada was after a foreign team and coL answered his call.

Just wish the KR scene could stabilize and grow...

Well, remember, Complexity were ready to offer Stephano a huge contract to play with them...but he ran back to Millennium. Then they had Naniwa...and that didn't work. So it's not like Complexity doesn't have money, but they haven't had anyone to use it on.

True, but still gotta imagine a legend like NaDa probably costs more than stephano and naniwa combined, plus probably the rest of CoL's roster (I'm assuming they don't spend much on their current roster since none of them really have any achievements.)

qxc has achievements under his belt. All kill on IM, you're kidding right.
When qxc wasn't studying for college he was dominating the scene, he can still compete with Koreans.

awesome of coL ; letting NaDa himself decide wich tournaments he wants to go, this is not only good for his plannings, practice - but aswell a nice teamspirit/connection - dunno, just great that a legend like him is treath like that right off the bat.

Best of luck!

That's what I thought. They did buy a name and nada has been a Bonjwa for sure. But as of late not so much. He has been on Sc2 Teams for quite a while now, and though I obviously always watch his streamand events, I do miss the NaDa that rocked worlds. Will he train as furiously as he did when he became the legend we once knew? I sure hope so, but with him maturing and being all CEO and stuff I feel most of that burning determination might be a thing of the past?
I hope I'm wrong. Time will tell.
I figured out the EG Curse. It was set in motion by Voodoo Shamans working for Millenium. Whenever EG aquires a player, Voodoo energies start slowly draining skill from the EG guy into an Millenium newcomer. Think about it!

Can't blame a guy for trying to get another year of good cash. Football players go to Katar/Dubai for them Dollars too. I cannot see him becoming very succesful at Complexity.

Good luck Nada, prove me wrong.

Nada on a foreign team. Incredible job by Complexity as an organization to are dedicate immense resources to recruit and retain some of the best RTS talent in the world. [red]Nada on a foreigner team giving a last great year of performances before his mandatory military service; wowowowowow. Nada at MLG, IPL, IEM and NASL plz. While some may doubt Nada's results in SC2 his consistency in reaching the Ro8 in Code S is an achievement in and of itself. These runs in GSL made Nada unable to participate in overseas tournaments that conflicted with GSL schedule especially after the SK-oGs sponsorship ended. Looking forward to a great year as a spoiled RTS fan.

Oh... My.. God

This is a goddamn breakthrough for foreign team e-sports. NaDa may not be the dominant force he was in BW, but he's an iconic player from the old school, and having such players join foreigner teams is something that was completely out of the question earlier.

Awesome, I hope we get to see NaDa more.

this is really surprising. coL seems to want to bolster their lineup by alot. They are lacking in very top level players now. Nada is a huge pickup plus the people in MVP must be delighted.

With MC to SK, alive to Fnatic JYP to EG and Nada to coL this will really make koreans thik there are huge money in the west.

I really don't like how people make that much of a difference between the western scene and the korean scene.
Especially in Starcraft 2, where a huge mass of the tournaments are held online (or at least have online qualifiers), the whole world is connected through the internet. Tournaments should search for the champions and teams should search for potential recruits not amongst the best players of a specific region, but amongst the best players of the world, and chances are, that those best players are the ones who sacrificed more of their life, dedicated more of their time, towards the game to obtain the skill with which they are dominating the scene.

So I applaud compLexity for recruiting undoubtely the highest skilled teamless player, that was currently out there. And I hope Nada will be a huge boost for the lineup, getting them closer to the dominance that they seek with that aquisition in the world of starcraft 2 teams.

so not worth it. he said he has only 1 year left before he starts his mandatory army service. he will take up sc2 fulltime now that hes done with school i believe, and then probably will see the fruits of his practice in the last 4 months of his time left. Not a smart financial decision imo.

So will he start focusing more on SC2 now ? Broodwar NaDa was amazing, to bad we never seen anything like it in SC2.
Grats NaDa hope it's the challange you looked for and it will motivate to do better.

Wow I honestly have to say I was not expecting this, does this mean he is focusing more on sc2? Thrilled for both parties though, only great things can come from it and I can't wait to see Nada participating in more foreign events soon!

col.NaDa ........ i dunno.
NaDa is a super star and capable to become the best terran in the world in sc2.
So for me col is abit below his skill level.
Would love to see him fly solo for a while ! nadanada best team !

Hmm, as far as I'm concerned this is great. There are some haters in this thread based on baggage from other games, but IMO col has been a class act in sc2 and that's what I care about. I've been a col fan since their pickup of Root, and this is awesome.

That's a reference to his nickname "Genius Terran" not a hint that they are picking up Genius. Just as Renaissance Terran and Tornado Terran are nicknames also.

Maybe this move is what NaDa needs to make the impact in the SC2 world that we all know he can and should.

Jason Lake said "The door is certainly open but as of right now I believe he will train from home. I'm sure he'll spend a great amount of time training directly with MVP players." Regardless its looking awesome.

Rofl, NaDa's career didn't start in 2003, he joined Ideal Space in 2001 and he also won his first MSL (KPGA tour) in 2002.

Anyway, this is sick. Grats to NaDa and to Complexity.

" to make his final mark as a player".

Makes all sense in the world. If that sentence means what I think it does, why not try foreign team for once and play little bit more in foreign tournaments. You can go out with style.

I wish best of luck for the Legend.

koreans are getting clever
they've realised that they can play on foreign teams and not win anything and still get paid enough.
Instead of having to try month after to month to battle through the insanely hard Code S when in the same timr you can get paid just as much just for being awesome :D

great pick up for Complexity i think, and lets hope nada starts fucking shit up again

Actually, this is a great invest to keep compiting with EG, I mean in terms of promotion and the foreign scene.

He will have little competence in the foreign scene that must be really cool and a lot more relaxed compared to constantly have to worry on keep his code S/A status in the GSL.

I agree. Screw the haters. CoL isn't the strongest foreign lineup but they sure as hell have developed one of the strongest foreign-korean relations in the scene with MVPCoL. They have shown to be a financial powerhouse, up there with EG/FXO and are capable of offering their players amazing opportunities around the world. Even if NaDa was near his prime, success in the GSL is always difficult. Now that he only has a year left, why not focus on some foreign tournaments, something NaDa has not had the opportunity to pursue, but could most surely be successful at. That all said, I hope he takes advantage of the MVPCoL partnership and practices with DRG/Genius :D

We're talking about the most consistent and accomplished (alongside Flash) progamer in StarCraft history. Playing for a foreign team.

It's actually insane.

Heart left TSL a couple of weeks ago actually, so he did not get " stolen " or anything like that.

Glad Heart got picked up. Hopefully he can beat Ryung in Code A to have a good start to the team.

Obviously Complexity is picking up more koreans - anyone know if they plan on establishing a physical presence there? A house even? Just curious =)

Congrats to both the team and the players regardless.

Well, they already have a partnership with MVP, so I don't expect they'll establish their own house there.

They don't even line up with that shadows. That's not fair. If you're going to play "Who's that pokemon?" you at least need to use real silhouettes.

it's amazing how desperate coL is to get a place among the bigger teams
they are just throwing with money so they get some koreans after they recongnized that their US players are just not cutting it... don't like that at all

Ah, another good Terran. It's kind of funny the way so many of the Koreans coming to foreign teams are Terran players. On CoL's line up, NaDa is the best Terran and Heart is the second. CatZ is the best Zerg, lol.

Not trying to bash CatZ but the skill differential is interesting to think about, especially for the future. Will these foreign teams keep their foreign players or eventually swap almost all of them for talented Korean Code B players at least, if not big names? I wonder if, a year from now, the roster of most major foreign teams will have ~2 Koreans at each race, and then some foreigners who are justifiable based on streaming/sporadic tournament results. I kind of think that's the logical conclusion of the current system we have in place.

It feels like an arms race at the moment

I'm not sure if this is the right path the foreigner teams are heading. So instead of learning from the koreans and adapt their system, we'll just buy koreans instead?

That or keep paying worse players who don't practice as hard.

Congrats to coL on getting another great player. I'm not a coL fan at all, but I can't hate on them for getting both of these great players.

It may not be the right path for foreigner teams, but it's probably better overall for SC2 as an e-sports. Currently, foreign teams have the money but not the talent. Korea has the talent but not the money. Might as well buy the Korean talent so that overall everyone can succeed. Or at least succeed more.

Foreign teams have sent representatives to Korea but it's one thing to place someone in a Korean training environment and another thing for them to have and maintain a Korean training mentality. When it comes down to it, foreign teams don't have the discipline to develop the talent to the level of Korea and thus it lags behind. That's not everything of course, it's a mutli-dimensional paradigm, but it's a big contributor.

If foreigners were better, foreign teams wouldn't need to employ Koreans to compete. But foreigners are not better.

On the other hand, I think part of the reason so many Koreans are keen on joining foreign teams is because they want a little more freedom in how they live and train--but it is those strict patterns that make the korean scene better in the first place. Is there another way? It reminds me of the debate in hockey cirlces in the 70's (for any of you familiar with the sport) when Russian players were thought to be catching up with and passing Canadian players, largely via living the same way as Korean SC pros do (though in more strict terms).

I'm a little late to this thread, but in case nobody has said it yet - Now we wait for Coach Lee to throw a fit over another of his players leaving, and accuse coL of player poaching.

I can feel it in me waters! Especially with the fact it was ambiguous at points whether heart had actually left TSL.

It was the same in War3 - MYM's line-up at one point was Moon (KR), Lucifer (KR), SocceR (KR), and Grubby (and I think I'm forgetting maybe two more players, hmm) -- so it's not like it's anything new. Foreigners need to start performing better.

Coach Choi (team MVP) asked them to announce NaDa first in hopes that he could play in the GSTL last night, but the rules of the league won't let him play on the team until next season.

I'm not sure if this is the right path the foreigner teams are heading. So instead of learning from the koreans and adapt their system, we'll just buy koreans instead?

I'm hoping more things like this happen. Instead of there being Koreans and Foreigners, there might eventually just be Starcraft 2 players and teams. The big disconnect that we had with BW is starting to break down and you see it every day in all the team leagues and such. We're catching up. Hopefully soon, we'll be one big happy family.

I wish coL would have announced Nada last. After Nada, Heart just seems underwhelming.

Coach Choi (team MVP) asked them to announce NaDa first in hopes that he could play in the GSTL last night, but the rules of the league won't let him play on the team until next season.

That seems strange -- when Nada was on the bench last night I thought, "Wait, he can't play until next season, right?" If a random viewer like me is familiar with the rules, you'd think the MVP coach would be. But still, we'll see who their third player is -- I do agree that it's a bit underwhelming to go from Nada to Heart (no offense to Heart <3), but he's still a solid pickup.

tbh this looks like a way for NaDa to gain exposure and a last large load of SC profit before he goes to the army next year. i'm sure coL had to promise a large salary for NaDa to join. This will allow NaDa to also advertise his NaDa mall, as well as potentially make even more cash off of foreign events.

Some may view Nada as selling out for joining a foreigner team like coL, but its a good way to milk the industry before heading to the military.
And Artosis sayeth "the one who kills many, but loses few, comes out ahead."

It won't be LS, he stated numerous times that he wants a korean team and has little to no interest in non-KR teams.

He stated in his latest interview that he wants a team with a safe stand in korea, like Tl does. I do not know how much the col-mvp relationship really values, but I think it would count aswell.

I really thought Col would have announced all these players in reverse. Killer was an easy guess, heart not a huge suprise, and nada was a real shock to me. But still awesome pickups for Col!

So, complexity now has 3 players in GSL. That's pretty sick.

As much as I was hoping for Liquid NaDa, it's still amazing that he's going to be on a foreign team. All three of these players are extremely talented and it instantly makes complexity one of the best foreign teams

Dragon doesn't want to play for a team anymore. I'm not sure I like NaDa going to CoL, but as long as he enjoys it there and they're very supportive, it's fine (or better). Good luck NaDa!

Amazing pickups. I am very excited to see what kind of results these players are going to be posting. Hopefully Nada can make it back into code S

Woah, complexity is starting to really gain some momentum. These new Korean additions to their rosters will definitely improve their performance in future tournaments.

When Root merged with CoL, Kiwi refused and joined Reign instead. So I don't think this'd happen.

Probably, but only next season as you can't change the roster in the ongoing season.

really ? Can you explain that please ? Because i only see potential in NaDa, if he ever finds his motivation to put effort in the game again instead of coasting to his military service.

Killer feels a bit like Zenio solid but never impressive.

Heart feels to soon to say he's a top end terran.

On what are they raising the f. bar ?

Oh, I actually expected DRG and Genius.

It's funny how Col still isn't going to be a top foreign team. Heart and SangHo aren't so scary, and Nada probably won't care much at all.

The Jasons are intelligent business men. I'm sure they've crunched the numbers and made sure they can sustain this.

That or some may be leaving. Pure speculation, though.

I've been a coL fan since their 1.6 days.. Jason Lake has been the best manager to ever come out of North America... with Alex Garfield from EG right behind him.

Guy is on top of his shit and always gets the best talent to play under him and coL always makes that talent better and more known. Can't wait for NaDa to have the same successes from BW in sc2.

EDIT: Same can be said for SangHo who really hasn't had much success and even Heart... both guys will be dominating, I promise you that.

Meh, I don't agree with Sangho dominating. He is on the downswing. But heart, hell yes he will dominate. Kid is a beast and is going to start turning some heads if coL can send him out to some foreigner events.

Nice pickups for coL in Nada, Heart, and now SangHo. I guess they'll be staying at the MVP house if not living on their own.

Is anyone left without a team now?

It is just Great for the entire Scene, It also speaks well of the international community to have hardcore Korean gamers being offered enough dough to want to be on foreign teams. I'm a bit suprised at the pickups, I get heart (young talent showing a lot of promise), but nada and sangho aren't too hot, and kinda on their way out it feels.

I have a feeling that MC is going to peak soon. PartinG, Genius, Puzzle, and Oz all have been improving a lot recently. I still think that MC may be the best overall (with maybe Genius being better) but he isn't improving as much as other players.

OT: I don't like rooting for NaNiwa and SaSe, which pains me because I like rooting for all three of these Koreans. Now that coL has these guys and qxc I have to root for them....

Genius....

MC's results this season also shouldn't be taken as evidence that he can perform without a practice house. He was still in oGs at the start of the season this isn't long enough to see how it will affect him.

yah but the reality is they are now on a foreign team, which means they'll be at foreign events. Mediocre koreans will tear through the foreign scene for the most part, and all three of these players are not mediocre. Koreans want on foreign teams because they get paid more+easier tournaments. GSL is hard, even for koreans, they want more opportunities, and the fact is we don't know how much Killer has been practicing, we don't know what nada's goals are exactly, and heart is a really strong player capable of more than cheese.

No results in korea does not mean they are bad, or won't get stellar results in foreign tournaments. I think people underestimate how hard results in korea and gsl are.

That statement is so 2011. Mediocre Koreans will fail at foreign events nowadays because the foreign events are stacked with better Koreans.

so 2011? lolol funny response. But obviously if you look at 2011 the mediocre koreans did better than nearly all foreigners even in tournaments with S-class koreans. I wasn't talking about korean vs koreans, it's a trend that koreans mostly lose to other koreans in foreign events. Not all the time ofc, but most of the time.

But what I was saying was in response to what I responded to bro. People trying to base how good a korean will do in the foreign scene on results in korea. It can't be compared. Producing results in GSL, the only pro korean league, is a lot harder than producing results in any other tournament in the world, so you can't say that killer, heart, or nada won't tear the foreign scene up based on what they did in korea.

For clarification, mediocre korean is not an insult, i should have said mid-tier koreans.
