We heard that you wanted more StarCraft II action. Once again a $10,000 cash prize will be up for grabs for the top 3 teams. This season we've upped the ante with more teams (12 to be exact), more matches (six days of broadcasting a week), and more Koreans than ever thought possible to fit in one league. We've also adjusted the format a bit in response to all the feedback we received from the previous seasons and have now removed 2 vs. 2 match-up. Each team versus team match will include four 1 vs. 1 best-of-three match-ups. As you guessed it, in the event of a tie, an additional 1 vs. 1 best-of-three ACE match will be played.
New MCSL Website Coming Soon!
Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham and a currently unannounced broadcaster will fill the seats at the broadcast booth each week. But they won't be alone! Nope, we've asked Greg "IdrA" Fields, Benjamin "DeMusliM" Baker, and Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson to jump in as guest commentators each and every week.
The top six teams from season six ( Mousesports, Empire, Fnatic, Evil Geniuses, Dignitas, and It's GoSu) will compete in season seven, but will be joined by five additional invited teams that are yet to be announced.
But we've left one spot open and this is where we need your help. We want to give one team from the community the chance to show the world just how good they are in one of the most prestigious online leagues of StarCraft II. You'll have four days to vote on your favorite team (Deadline: Tuesday, February 7 by 8:00PM EST). The team with the most votes at the end of the season will be welcomed as the 12th and final team of the league.
We will be announcing one of unannounced invited teams each day beginning on Sunday, February 5th. Stay tuned for that announcement tomorrow!
