The New season of the GSTL is quickly approaching, and everyone seems to have their own opinion on who they think is going to win. Many believe it will be IM, some MVP, and some even SlayerS, while people like VirgilSC2 believe in TSL. Poopy is putting his eggs in the PRIME basket. Well, I'm very happy that everyone has their own opinions and teams to root for, because it would be pretty boring if everyone was rooting for the eventual champion.
But, who is going to be the champion? Well, let me enlighten you.
FXO. FXOpen ESPORTS. fOu.
While not as flashy as IM with NesTea and MVP, and not as legendary as SlayerS with BoxeR, and not as underlooked as ZeNEX, FXO will win the GSTL. A combination of depth, superstars, and up-and coming players makes FXO a dangerous team and an obvious choice for eventual champion. Here are the reasons why.
ReasoN #1- FXOBoss
But... He's not a player? How can he be a key cog in the gold-plated pocket watch that is team FXO? FXOBoss may not be an amazing Starcraft II player, but he's an amazing businessman. And he can buy you. And if you get on his bad side, he will. He's a ruthless badass, a sick killer, and a man so rich that you could only dream to have a room full of money half the size of his money room. FXO has a match with TSL coming up? Well, maybe FXOBoss will just decide to purchase Polt's contract. He could, and if he decides that he wants to, he will. Be afraid other teams. Be very, very afraid.
ReasoN #2- Guminock
GuMiho always chokes under pressure. Leenock has a weak matchup against Protoss. Are these really the two players that FXO is counting on? Well, kind of. GuMiho is still in Code S. Yes, that place that players like Polt and Bomber and BoxeR and IdrA and HuK and everyone but 15 other people AREN'T in. Regardless of what your personal opinion of GuMiho is, he's Actually quite a boss when he's not playing against Terran. And Leenock is great against Terran. INITIATE Epic ONE-TWO PUNCH.
Leenock may not be in Code S anymore (he still has a chance to make it back Into Code S this season, Which he will because he's amazing), but he's still an elite Zerg. He has beaten such great Terran players as fOrGG and MVP in recent ZvT series. Leenock won MLG Providence, from the Open bracket. Leenock is now playing Sc2 100% full time, and since he's so young he will only continue to get better and better.
And if Leenock falls in game ONE, you know who they can put out? Leenock! Just get him and GuMiho to secretely change jerseys and BAM! You have two Leenocks or two Gumihos on your team. Guminock will prevail!
ReasoN #3- z
FXOz. A great player despite Koreans inability to pronounce the letter z, z just continues to improve. Whenever people count him out (which is always) he bounces back and plays like a baller. He was in the Round of 4 last season of Code S. The semifinals. That place that MC didn't get to. That round that NesTea was unable to reach. Where MMA wished he was. z will never fully get the respect that he deserves as the second best Protoss in Korea, but he will show a lot of people up when he dominates the team league.
ReasoN #4- Lucky
He almost beat MVP. I mean, he didn't, but he almost did. Lucky has shown in recent months that he's an incredible player. The player that single-handedly knocked NaNiwa out of Code A TWICE is an incredible force of unstoppable Zerg AGGRESSION. He also beat IdrA in ZvZ, which isn't too shabby. Despite a hulk-smashing at the hands of Stephano in IGN Season 3, Lucky has recently shown decent results.
ReasoN #5- Everyone else
There are a lot of players on FXO you've probably Never heard of. Crane? Weekend? Tree? Then there are those you know, like Choya and asd. These players haven't made a tremendous impact on the GSL in recent months, but that doesn't mean they're bad players. You know Inori? Former FXO player. sC? FXO. Bumblebee.Prime? FXO. Noblesse? Formerly CutefOu. FXO has had a history of having young unknowns pop up and perform well, and then get SNIPED. Well, until those players get stolen, they belong to FXO.
ReasoN #666 (Aka the real reason that FXO is going to win).
Because they're... TheBest
