I got into masters with roughly 40 apm, simply macroing and a-moving. Then when I wanted to learn to micro I would do simulators and get frustrated because I can't learn. So I entered ladder matches and just CHOSE to do the things I saw on streams and in tournaments, and it worked. | ||

You know the direction you must split and move the marines is always different so the mouse movements cannot be identical. In my experience the best splits come from simply acknowledging what is happening on the screen so you can employ your limited speed and reaction time in the right place. I don't think one should categorize micro intensive moments as something fundamentally different from your overall army control. Of course things like muta and wraith micro in bw are different, because they are actual skills. I think that everytime I've tried to purposefully micro I fuck it up in the worst ways imaginable. | ||

Heres a video of MKP splitting marines vs banes for 40 minutes from reddit, watching it helped my splitting a lot I think edit: the fun starts at around 21 mins btw, he uses patrol after the first split seems like | ||

Just stim and then patrol move ur rines in the opposite direction - once they get a little distance grab half of them and patrol away in a 45° angle. You'll get kind off an 'Y' shape. It's less micro intensive so you have far less oppurtunitys to f' it up^^ Helped me a lot at least | ||
