I've been watch Day9's videos.
He's really insightful while being entertaining; I've really learned a lot from him.
At the moment, I'm heavily interested in SC2 because I completely suck at it.
As in... even though I learned how to play by watching his videos, I clearly don't know how to play. I'm quite good at learning things but there is a disconnect between my learning and my capability in SC2. That disconnect is what I find so intriguing. If I attained Diamond, would I just quit? I don't know..
After New Years, I haven't had much time to play SC2.
I only played one ladder match, which was a TvT.
I started with the only thing I knew (1 / 1 / 1) while he proxy 3 rax'd the center of the map. I was able to fend his initial attack off because I had an early siege tank with a wall-in on the ramp. He was expanding as I have, but for some reason I thought I was going to lose. I was contained in my base (with my natural), while he had freedom to roam all over the map. I just continued producing marines and tanks, hoping to add in vikings after my first expansion. As I started pushing out of my first base to claim my natural, we both exchanged marine armies. My tanks were still alive and I leap frogged them at his proxies. After taking out the majority of his marines near his proxies, he left the match and I won!
When I looked at the replay, he had (imo) better usage of his resources. He kept his minerals <100 but his gas was around 500ish. I, on the other hand, had 1.5kish minerals and <200 gas. That really got me thinking on how far I am from truly utilizing my race to full capacity.
Things I need to work on:
❤ 1 / 1 / 1 Build Order
❤ Income expenditure before, during, and after first expansion.
In other news, I'm trying to get my bro to move in. It's kinda boring with just my old rm. I think I have become too used to living with people and not person. With person, you either eat alone or with them. But with people, there's always someone to hang out with, yakno?
Enough thinking, sleepy now.
Gnite.
