2011 is done, I bought 56 new games last year and beat a total of 62 games making my entire backlog progress for 2011 +6.
Currently I am sitting at 124 games still unbeaten in my videogame backlog. All the games listed are ones I actually own and 95% of them have original case+ manual.
Rules of backlogging:
1) In order to not spread myself to thin, at most I shall have 6 different games currently being played that I have not beaten. (at this moment I am only playing 5 because I cant decide on a good 6th to start)
2) Single play games (games that use no save) do not count towards the 6.
3) In order to make chronological backlog progress one game must be the earliest game I added to the backlog. Currently that game is Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door which was added on 02/06/10 (just like most of my 1st day of entries)
4) At least one game must be randomly selected (fortune cookie) by the backlog system. If the game selected is a sequel, I default to the earliest game in the series that I have not beaten. Game currently being played due to this rule is Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
5) (new for 2012) No purchasing new games unless I am currently in positive progress for the year.
Exceptions include, but not limited to
a) Gifts
b) Must buys (exceptionally rare games in good condition at good price found in person--no internet shopping allowed here)
My girlfriend who lives with me also uses this same system, but as she has a LOT more games unbeaten she does not abide by rules 3 or 4, and also has a rule 6 which is that one of her games is hand selected by me (currently the 7th Guest)
Wish me luck in 2012. According to another website I have somewhere in the range of 2400 hours of gameplay in my backlog.
