The Company by Robert Littell: + Show Spoiler + I take great interest in cold war era espionage and this novel covers both sides from the beginnings of the CIA to the fall of the Soviet Union, a great read! The Spy Who Came in From the Cold by John LeCarre: + Show Spoiler + A really quick read at only ~220 pages, but one of the best novels I've read and on Time's list as one of the top 200 novels of all time. Started earlier today and have about 20 pages left: + Show Spoiler + I had a few books I wanted to read and asked a friend of mine which I should read first and he said The Hobbit. Wasn't planning on it, but The Hobbit is making me want to pick up Lord of the Rings immediately after.

Simply amazing, recalling the life and times of famous roman figures like Cicero, Gaius Marius, Caesar, and like a dozen others. good stuff. and Symmetry, anyone into math, or physics, or art of some kind, will enjoy this a lot. and what im reading right now!!! literally this moment! The life of Nikola Tesla, and my god, this is one of the best books ive read since a Brief history of time. Simply fascinating, Tesla is the most underrated scientist of our lifetime. and after that! just traded Plutarch's Lives for this bad boy, don't know anything about it, just heard it was a thinker. Happy new year folks!

A great history of the last great warrior tribe to challenge America's spread into the West during the 1800's.

So far enjoying every single moment of this nice fanfic. A nice amalgam of X-COM and SG1 with a healthy dose of Humanity Fuck Yeah. I was grinning like a maniac at this part (otherwise have no relation to the story whatsoever): + Show Spoiler + Meanwhile elsewhere in the galaxy an irradiated and slightly charred unaccompanied message arrived mysteriously through a stargate on the Aschen homeworld. In handwriting Mellon, one of their most respected political functionaries, confirmed was his own it simply said “Under no circumstances provoke X-COM” and was dated as coming from a decade in the future. It was sound advice from an alternate timeline where much of the Aschen homeworld was burning. That the attempt to use a biological weapon to annihilate most of the population of Earth had been badly misjudged had become abundantly clear when the first BC-305 Battlecruiser arrived in orbit and started to blast the major cities of the Aschen Federation to rubble with ZPM boosted Asgard supplied weaponry. The Aschen were only lucky that most of the Tau’ri fleet was still too busy beating the crap out of the Ori in their home galaxy to be sent their way otherwise the entire planet would have been scorched down to the bedrock before they could figure out how to use the timing of solar flares to get the message back to the past through the stargate. As a point of trivia XSGCOM 1 never did find out why the Aschen were so obsequious to them when they eventually encountered them roughly a year later on the Volian homeworld P3A-194.

This is always a fun thing to explain. Always something I re-read on a constant basis, this trilogy is masterfully written. Fantastic author all together. Just wrapping this up, finally got around to reading it and WOW, well done Paolini. Much better than Book 7 of Harry Potter. I can also be found reading a ton of FanFiction on my phone when I'm bored as well. Looking into starting the Game of Thrones books, I hear they're really good.
