It is TRAGIC.
In the past few years, we have seen a sharp decline in the number of 16:10 aspect ratio monitors available in the market.
I've been using a good ol' Dell 2407 Monitor for the past 6 years; and it is finally falling apart. I've been searching for the past couple of months, but I have yet to find a worthy successor to this awesome monitor.
Every manufacturer in the market is catering to the lameass FULL-HD 16: 9 1920 x 1080 range of monitors. They are completely neglecting the good ol' 1920 x 1200 16:10 monitor market.
What's the craze about everything being Full-HD? Seriously? To me, games are meant to be played in 16:10. 16: 9 is just so long; so skewy; I HATE it. I've tried gaming on 16: 9 monitors and oh, it's such a pain in the dick. And the ass.
Now, I want to get myself a good 16:10 monitor. But NOOOOOOOOO, they have to come at such an insane premium as compared to their lameass 16: 9 counterparts. All I want for Christmas is a good, reasonably priced 24" 16:10 monitor, and I can only find 2 decent screens available from Dell (U2410) and Asus (the ProArt monitor) which are apparently catered to the "Professional" crowd. Not even LED backlit and the colours would probably look too "oversaturated" for my professionally untrained eyes because of the insane colour gamut.
Now, where can I find a good LED backlit 24" 1920 x 1200 monitor (with HDMI) without having to fork out millions for one from Eizo or NEC, and not having to settle for some sub-par monitor like the Dell U2412 which does not even have HDMI input?!
Why? What is it with people's obsession with Full HD? Good grief give me back my 16:10 monitors.
Any suggestions for a monitor that suits my needs? Please help It would be met with UTMOST appreciation.
