At this moment in time, I am beginning work on probably the thing I've been most inspired to work on in my life. I have begun “GGtv” - a new eSports platform. It will have content for:
- Starcraft 2
- League of Legends
- Heroes of Newerth
- DotA2
- Street Fighter
- Marvel vs Capcom 3
- Quake
I have many dreams for GGtv, I would like to see a... “GG Starleague”, perhaps. I know I would love to have a tournament with top foreigners and Koreans battling it out, that would be amazing to create and be a part of. I've always loved watching IPL, NASL, GSL, and now I want to contribute to giving others that enjoyment. A RO64 tournament would be my ideal tournament, with a losers bracket because, hey, more games, right?
I would LOVE to see DJWheat and Day[9] doing shows on Ggtv for Starcraft, I'd love to see 2GD doing Quake shows and Tobiwan doing DotA shows. I'd like to see players like Daigo and Jwong giving strategy advice on a strategy show for fighter games. It's a lifelong goal, and I am going to make this happen.
I would love to be there giving the opening speech for my own MLG-style event, the MLG format is one I like. The losers bracket makes it worth players coming from all over the world to compete to be the best gamer.
Perhaps maybe down the line I would like to develop a streaming program, that makes streaming very easy. A few-clicks process. I would love to be able to see Jwong owning everyone, and seeing top-top-top level play of games, and to make this really easy for people to do. I know this would be hard for console games, but I think it's achievable on PC. Xsplit kind of already does this, but I'd like it to be a games-dedicated program.
I would love to create a 16-team League of Legends tournament, I feel that it is a game with a lot of potential, but has yet to establish a solid eSports scene like Starcraft 2 has. Or Brood War. I'd like to do the same for Heroes of Newerth and DotA2, both of which are amazing games. I watched Quake Live in Dreamhack, and this introduced me to a wonderful game. It is pretty exciting, and Dreamhack got me in to thinking, if I got introduced to a new game by this, imagine how many others there are, and I could be doing the same. Also, I would love to see a Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournaments, they are games that are so fun to watch, and the time it takes to play a game is quite short, so it could have a lot of content that people would watch, due to the short times.
I am going to create a website for this, but “GG.tv” isn't acceptable according to godaddy but it is available, anyone know why this is? Since I am having trouble with a domain, GGtv (no matter how cool it sounds) is now, unfortunately, subject to change.
I can attribute this to Incontrol, he recently made a blog about getting involved, and trying to further eSports, and after reading his blog, you can't NOT want to contribute, it was so inspiring. Honestly, for all the shit Incontrol gets, after that blog, you have to love him.
This may bring a lot more people in to the different scenes. Imagine a ton of SC2 viewers going to the site, and seeing something called Quake. They'd click it, and view one of the various videos/content on that sub-section, and be introduced to a load of new personalities and things that may keep them in that scene. This can only be a good thing.
Incontrol spoke about graphics artists etc. being able to contribute, well, now is your chance! How will YOU contribute? Just say if you'd be able to do graphics work for me, since I am terribad at it. You will be fully credited in a section of the website.
Day[9]: “If you've got an idea, just go fucking do it” - or words to that effect.
(a side note to anyone who will say it, this is going to take me a long time, a few years, so don't say tomorrow, 'Hey, that GGtv guy never got anywhere' because that's stupid )

Good luck I believe haha.

Gosu Gamers stream is GG.tv, hope it works for you anyway.

I will make a new blog when the site is up in its most basic form, and from there you can check on its progress and stuff.

I hate being a party pooper, and I don't mean to to discourage you to pursuit your goals. But I think producing the content before announcing it is the way to go. So just to give you the motivation to prove me wrong, I'm going to guess that this never get's off the ground.

Rock this shit. It's people like you, with aspirations to do things that most would say are impossible, that make this world a truly great place to live. Get it done.

I know there is also another group called goodgametv.com that tried to get into streaming before mogulus got huge but now they do anime looks like. If I were you, I would try to come up with an original name for your site.

Good luck, tough road ahead!

Yeah, I am currently brainstorming new name ideas. If you guys have any, much love <3

I think it's an awesome idea to have, but it'll definitely be hard to pull off. Hope it all goes well.

There's alot of ideas here, but is there anything to back it up.
Do you have any expertise? Do you have any experience? Do you have a team? Do you have funds?
You talk about all this shit like its some kind of utopian world and its all just going to come together, but you dont even have a domain name.
Come on dude, get serious here, you're basically announcing something that doesn't exist....

It's still an idea. I think "esportstv.co.uk" is pretty sexy. I came here for other peoples opinions and such, i.e why I wrote the blog. I am pretty decent at web development, but the end goal is for others' content to be on the site, not stuff I've done myself. I won't need much funds and I won't need a team yet.

I hate to be that guy, but aren't you basically saying:
1. I won't need much funds 2. Other people will be doing all the work

I think what people are saying here is:
If you build it, maybe they will come.
But the main thing is build it first and then come back and show us what you've done yourself first. Put the work and effort in first before you expect others to do it for you.
If you're really serious about starting something pm me and maybe we can collaborate on a project I've been thinking about myself.

Oh, I think I totally misread this. Later on, when this is making money, I would pay them, of course. At the moment, though, to develop the site, etc. I need barely any funds. Haha.
