Well, i guess here goes nothing. I don't actually see a point in typing a blog, or even starting one, but i figured it would be a good thing to do to kill time in my 2nd period class in school. >.<
As the title of the entire blog suggests, I'm a diamond starcraft player. Pretty straight forward yeah? Well it is. I guess what i should continue to put here is how I got to starcraft as a video game player and why I insist on playing the game as much as I do. To start it off, I started playing PC games probably in 5th grade. My friend introduced me to some terrible online RPG called runescape and i basically played that. What this game did for me though was introduce me to living, breathing online communities and economies, social networks and more. This really interested me and lead me to go on a search for a more diverse and complex community. I loved the games but i also loved the community.
After runescape, which I played for a good three years, i moved on to play large sums of various free online games, be it an MMO, or a FPS. I played counter strike to world of warcraft, Team fortress 2 to Warcraft 3.
I had never entirely dedicated myself to one specific genre of game, and i was very open to trying new games. After playing WoW for about 5 years of my life, Starcraft 2 came out and everyone in my guild was going crazy. Many of the players had the beta and played it alot, but i never showed any real interest.
After a while, a good friend of mine that i played competitive arena with basically force fed Starcraft 2 to me. I tried the game, and hated it immediately. I would play games vs. him and die in a manner of brutal murder, dying to mutalisks and simple zergling attacks. I raged often and told him how much I hated every aspect of the game, how i knew nothing about the game and how long it would take to learn about everything in it.
For some odd reason, even though i hated the game, i kept playing. None of my friends really played the game (that i knew), and it was mainly a solo experience. I couldn't stand team games for my computer lagged severely and i didn't get the epic feel from 1v1. I kept playing, steam rolling my way from bronze to diamond in season 1 in a months time, playing over one thousand games. I felt great, and no longer hated the game. In fact, i loved the game...
