We got lucky with zeks, tommorow is where we can expect to start connecting people to 2 clues. Once 2 clues are connected to one person you have a case imo.

so...what's most interesting about AmericanUmlaut is this, IMO:

I've voted Palmar again because he's adopted a sanity-discovery plan that seems the best of those that have been discussed so far. I'm still open to being persuaded, but I want to make sure I've got a vote up because my wife is taking me to Ikea now to get a new couch, and I might not be able to get back to the forum in time to catch up on the debate and vote later tonight.

I'm trying to catch up on the backstory I missed... So, we've got mass vote switching lured by an edited vote post (nicely done, if that was intentional), we've lynched our townie mayor and half the mafia have basically outed themselves?
Is this how this game typically plays out?
WBG, what's the deal with me showing up in your scum list? Obviously voting Palmar was a mistake, but it was an honest one. Whether my vote for you was a mistake or not has yet to be established, though I'm leaning that direction since your recent posts certainly feel pro-town to me, but declaring me "useless" and therefore worth offing doesn't sit right with me as a reasonable argument.
Other than myself, I think, vaderseven and prplhz were already pretty cut and dry even before, and Ciryandor explicitly outed himself, so they're obvious cases. The quick vote switchers are also pretty obvious; I'd hope you'd not assume I'm part of their little organization just because I made one vote based on incomplete information that they also made later, all at once, based on total information.
Those were his three posts, one of which was in the vote thread, between the end of day 1 and the beginning of night 1.
He claims defense from the scum vote switch based on being AFK:
On December 01 2011 05:08 AmericanUmlaut wrote: So now I'm responsible for a massive voteswitch that happened while I was afk? That seems like pretty reasonable logic. And now you're instructing the same sheep you accuse me of being to follow your orders and waste a bullet on me; if you want people making reasoned decisions instead of just following whoever can post the biggest wall of text, you need to make with a reason. It's not pro-town to go declaring mafia reads based on single circumstances (unfortunate as they were) and then plug your ears to counter arguments.
even though I didn't accuse him of being responsible for the scum vote switch.
However, what's weird is that he was supposedly afk from the thread for four real time days.
How then, did he have time to read the thread and then vote for me and Palmar in the middle of day 2 without posting in the actual thread?
How did he make such a radical change of opinion, from supporting my plan day 1 and supporting Palmar for mayor, to wanting to lynch both of us, with no written explanation, while having real life obligations?
He had time to read the cases on us but not comment on them?
Certainly I believe his excuse that he was busy IRL. However, if he wanted to be pro-town at the same time he would've warned us in advance and at least given a reason for his votes yesterday.
Instead, if he didn't have enough time to post, he probably didn't have enough time to read either.
So, I'm leaning most toward him being scum and them telling him to vote Palmar/me. That's why there was no explanation until after the fact, and that's also why he made such a radical change in opinion with no forewarning.

Syllogism was out for his morning run when he stopped to tie his laces. He ran in marathons, and so each day he followed the same routine of waking up in the morning, putting on his tracksuit and going for a half-hour long run through the forest behind his house. Today was no different. Often, the trail he used was completely empty of other people, and so he was surprised when he finished tying his shoes to look up and see a man in a black trench-coat standing off to the side of the trail ahead of him. He was even more surprised when the man lifted a rifle and put two bullets into his chest.

serejai.. no profile/quote and an unusual name. Syllo was killed in an unusual place that was deemed "completely empty"
hows that?

I was busy as hell and knew that I would be modkilled if I didn't vote, which would mean I'd be banned, something I'm very loathe to experience in my very first game. I looked in the vote thread and saw that the two of you were getting piles of votes; given that my impression before had been that you were both widely perceived as being town, I assumed some sort of strong case must have been made against you. Search function -> found reasonable seeming posts, decided the risk of having a scum mayor wasn't worth taking and diddn't see anything wrong with the case against you. In retrospect I should have gone with prplhz, who I had a scum read on early on, but I seriously logged on for like 10 minutes and then I had to run. I don't know how that's hard to believe, do you never have real life events that keep you away from TL?

Again, 10 minutes is enough to make a vote post and search for/read about "reasonable sounding posts" but not a one liner explaining why you're voting me/Palmar?
This is like the worst defense ever.

I've thought of that, but "completely empty" applies to multiple people. WBG has an empty profile, too, and as much love as I do not have for the fellow, he's pretty clearly town to me. I think unless you can make a pretty solid link or make a link in the context of other evidence, a single round of clues isn't terribly useful.

So basically your claiming lurking while not reading the thread while sheeping onto the best looking votes at the time without giving a simple "hey I am voting for them blah blah blah" post?

afaik Serejai is probably the most unusual out of the list that was given to me. Add that to the emptyness of his profile and the emptyness in the flavor text I am just reading into clues. Grand marshal is unusual to you? A phonetic spelling of Matthew is THAT unusual. Sandroba is unusual too.

I pointed this out at the beginning of day 2 i believe, but it became swamped under the ace/palmar/bc battle. Its the fact that he was essentially OMGUSing every single player who called him out on anything, provided no analysis for anything, has an empty profile which relates to that clue, and also was one of the people who vote switched.
If he makes it through the night I will be pushing his lynch
