So this is slightly different but with the same spirit as the last one. I think some of the criticisms levied against the previous one are "addressed" in this one. I still love the last song I posted, but I personally value being diverse as well, within the sort of music I like to listen to.
A majority of my tracks are dubstep, and this one does have a dubstep breakdown, just a warning...
So the big things in this one compared to past efforts, since I try to continually learn new techniques, are...
1) Tuned kick drum! That's right, the 808 kick I used, I retuned to A#, the key of the song. Little things...
2) No drum loops. Not really new since I usually don't use them, but in the last one I did. I tried to create a shuffle-y beat from scratch.
3) Chopped up vocal samples. The kids love those these days.
4) Integration of some more serious sounds I use for dubstep along with some more 8-bit ones I usually use for house.
5) A very typical singer/songwriter type chord progression in the main body. It's not super obvious I don't think, but there shouldn't be a gap between "electronic dance music" and other music melody or chord wise. (Obviously lots of EDM artists have great melodies, sometimes I incorporate strong melodies, sometimes not.)
So any feedback is appreciated. This isn't a final master, but musically I'm personally satisfied. And if you like it, download / share !
