- promoted to gold
- trying to also have some map presence, but macro is slipping horribly -> need to work on my macro way more
Day 3:
- I believe I lost more than I won on this day
- switching from ctrl+# to alt+# for creating hotkeys was an awesome idea
- since RL keeps getting in the way I've decided to switch this from a predefined 1 month to 30 days of training that I will try to get in as quick as possible, this way I can solve my normal stuff without losing practice time
Day 2:
- need to practice my mechanics more -> trying to do opening perfectly, after that just pylons and probes
- climbed up to #1 of my division, but no promotion yet, a bit disappointed that I am still making mistakes in my opening
Day 1:
- started by blasting through some of Sase's MLG Orlando replays to get an idea of whether openings have changed since I haven't played
- my mechanics were worse than I thought so I went 1-4 in my placement matches to end up in bronze. TT
- got some feeling back and managed to climb up to silver in a couple of games
- definitely need to practice my mechanics more
Hello,
I already wrote this blog, but for some reason the TL gods didn't approve my previous wall of text. So I will be rewriting this to be short and sweet. ^_^
Who am I?
- just your average gamer, spent all of my teen years playing games(bw, war3, sc2, quake live, LoL), lots of time spent on games, never got past being mediocre. Reasons? maybe not enough skill, maybe not enough practice who knows?
What is this?
- an experiment to see how far I can get with a month of full out deliberate practice.
What is you goal?
- to see if I have any talent and if I find training for games enjoyable. Ultimately I am looking to get into masters after this 1 month period (by December 15th).
Why now?
- well I just quit my 9 to 5 last week, this has been keeping from virtually any gaming at all for the last months. Plus my only responsability right now is my masters degree in CS, which doesn't take that much time, so that makes NOW a perfect moment for this.
What next?
- if I manage to reach my goal I will definitely be thinking of extending this commitment.
Why the blog?
- making this attempt public to help me stay on track
What do you guys think of this type of commitment? Is it feasible? Are you interested in doing/following along with me?
Wish me luck!
