...That's not right.
...Code A Ro24 is essentially another set of Up&Down.

Only major problem could be explaining to casual watchers/people who don't like flowcharts what the fuck the players are actually playing for. It's hard to get hyped for a match where the casters are saying "AND IT'S ALL ON THE LINE HERE, WHOEVER LOSES IS. . .um. . .demoted into Code A. . .wait, is does the winner. Oh right, but one gets put into the Ro48 and the other in Ro24, and if they lose Ro48 they'll be out of GSL while the Ro24 guy will stay in and get into the Up and Downs and. . .So it's ALL ON THE LINE as we determine WHO GOES INTO THE RO48 and WHO GOES INTO THE RO24!"

Looks like it, didn't think of that... Ok now i'm depressed. I think there is still codeA final. They just ran out of space Don't think so. Top 12 are Code S. There isn't. I'm ok with it, I found Code A to be really anticlimactic after the Ro8 since those guys are all going to the Up & Downs and if they're good enough to win Code A, they're probably good enough to win in Up & Downs anyway.

Yeah, but Up and Downs were in between semifinals and finals. Code S finals should be the end of every season.

Make it top R8 to guarantee staying in Code S If you place fourth in R32 you are added to the Code A bracket at R48. You can then fall directly out of the GSL if you lose there, otherwise you're advancing as standard. If you place third in R32 you are added to the 24 players advancing from the first Code A round making a R32. 16 players that lose there go to the up and down pools. If you advance to R16 the worst you can do is be seeded into the Code A bracket at the Code S 24 player qualification playoffs. A win there means you stay in Code S, while a loss means you get another shot in the up&downs. Code A essentially becomes a lot more intertwined with Code S, it loses its identity as a seperate tournament but guarantees are better rate of player turnover where it's deserved. Code S almost has a double elim feel to it now because no matter how badly you do you can make a good run through the Code A bracket and earn your spot right back without going to the up & downs.

Additionally, are the 2 foreigner code A seeds now directly seeded into up&down instead of code A?

It's also more confusing, but people will be used to it in a few months and it's better than having the same players in Code S all the time.

I am worried about the 2 group stages though… If they’re Bo1 again… :/
