London Barcraft organizer here: Before it's too late, setup a facebook PAGE not a group. Groups have a lot of issues when more than 10 people join, and a lot of spammage ensues.
GL&HF for your event! What's your twitter?
Protip: At London Barcraft, I've setup a twitter notification through growl (using a Mac, sue me) that pops-up with any mention of @LondonBarcraft for the audience to see, lots of fun for the attendees, and useful when you need to let everyone know that the pub is running a happy hour

I should still be attending, i cant say for sure because i may have other plans for that night but i'am 80-90% sure i will be there. Cant wait.
EDIT: I think there will either just be me or me and my girlfriend attending, none of my friends are really that into starcraft sadly

We have a group page and an event page atm, we don't have an actual Newcastle Barcraft twitter yet but we will get one :D

Bahahaa, Bar Kollo is literally outside my door, 1 min walk away! :D
I don't think a Newcastle Barcraft twitter is hugely needed - I have enough trouble juggling my own personal twitter account, what with being on a web design course that requires frequent client contact etc, so I've been using the hashtag #NewcastleBarcraft whenever I tweet anything related.

How easy is it to get to the bar from the train station?

Very. Do you know where the stadium is? It's kinda hard to miss. If you walk all the way up to the stadium, Bar Kollo is pretty much right next door. It's on a relatively small road right next to the Barker and Stonehouse furniture store.
If you're feeling lazy, the nearest metro stop is either St James or Haymarket, they're both really close.

This is their drinks menu according to the website. I don't mean to be a party pooper but they don't fucking sell any piss on tap, neither do they have Guinness or john smiths on tap. I really hope the menu is outdated, because what's the point of arranging a barcraft in Newcastle if you can't get a cheap pint of lager, john smiths or Guinness.
I really hope the list is complete and they have some carling or fosters or whatever, it's not great stuff but it's what you want to drink when you're being social. I think we have inadvertently booked something trendy.
Also what kind of cheap arse bar sells halves for more than half the price of a pint. I'll probably still come since it's a barcraft and I like Kopparberg. But next time we should get a real pub and not somewhere that can't even spell the drinks they sell. Hopefully lots of people attend so we can show those figures elsewhere.

What's the problem with "trendy"? It's trendy as fuck, they have an art gallery upstairs and everything. I am going to try and work out a drinks deal with them -- if we get enough people to attend, such a thing would be worthwhile.
I am very happy with the venue as it stands, but this first NCBC is about the numbers. I'll be bringing along a camera and getting some PR shots so that I can have some kind of promotional pack together, and depending on how much of a success it is at Bar Kollo, we could see about pitching to more bars for the next gettogether.
Anyway, what are you moaning about? They have hobgoblin on tap!

Please come anyway if only to increase our numbers. We need as many people as possible to prove that Barcraft in the North East is legit.

TBH i would like a decent environment due to the length barcrafts can go on for so it's a good venue. I don't mind paying a premium for a decent drink but can understand some may be on a budget. You will likely have more success getting cheaper prices once you have stats from the first event.

The environment is bloody fantastic. It's such a comfortable venue - sofas, beanbags, plenty of chairs, real comfy atmosphere. As for cheap drinks, once I hit about 30 or so people on the event I am going to phone the manager and ask about some kind of promotion. I can possibly get a happy hour, maybe some drinks half price etc.
