I've been tied up with my busy life over the last month (hockey games, hockey practice, college, workout sessions, and family visiting from out of town) and haven't been able to play very often. Honestly, I have only played about two games vs the computer since the new patch came out. Everything has calmed down as of late so I'm ready to get back at it! The misses approved a new computer, provided she gets a puppy in a year, which is always a huge motivator to get back in to Starcraft. I was honestly getting a little frustrated playing on my MAC. The mouse accel thing is for the most part disabled, but there is still a small trace of it that irritates me. To solve this problem, I threw a copy of Windows 7 on the iMac, but there is a terrible sound driver issue that randomly crashes the computer, disables all sound on the computer, and does other very weird stuff. Another minor complaint is that I find it kind of difficult to play on a 27" monitor. My skill level probably doesn't warrant the right to complain about these when I'm still working on fundamentals, but a new computer has arrived along with a truckload of motivation!
Before I had to stop playing for a while I was having great success doing a 3 rax, MM, stim, concussive shell/combat shield push at 50 food with an expansion behind the push. I would usually go about 8-10 games at a time without a loss, and the loss was usually because I messed something up. I'm interested to see how this works out after the patch since an additional 5 seconds has been added to the barracks build time. Any one have any first hand experience w. this build post-patch? I was hoping that I was due for a promotion to Silver, but the ladders are locked now so I guess I'm stuck until next season. Anyway, I'll be heading to a friends house this weekend where we will be fueling our Starcraft addiction by watching the Blizzcon World Tournament and LANing it up. Any thoughts about the Blizzcon Tourney this weekend? How about two Protoss in the finals of MLG this past weekend?
