Q: You've finally shown some Code S games. How are you feeling?
A: I've played a lot of GSTL, so this was like usual and not too different. When I'm in the booth, I just try to show interesting games.
Q: It's been said that your road to Code S was easy, what do you think of that?
A: Until now, I also thought that I might not fit right in with Code S. But now I definitely think I belong in Code S. When I heard things like that, I hoped that I could be matched up with someone and win. I was promoted quickly so I didn't have much of a rising path, but I wanted to show that I was on the level of Code S, so I was not very concerned with other people's assessments.
Q: Since there are so many Terrans this season, people are saying it will be a good season for you.
A: That's the truth. It's very good. I don't know whether I will be matched with Coca, but I'd like to keep just meeting Terrans. If that keeps happening and the maps stay normal, then I think I can go not just to the finals, but could win. I'm worried that if I keep playing ZvT my style could get analyzed, but because of my management it's not too big a deal. And there are still a lot of things I haven't shown.
Q: You won't be going to MLG Orlando.
A: This isn't for any special reason. I'm already seeded for Providence, and I think that it's difficult for Zerg to have a good result. Also, I have decided that when I have free time in competition I would favor going to IEM.
Q: You used an all-in strategy in the Winner's Match.
A: Ever since the groups were decided, I had been ruling out Sangho. This is because I expected Polt to get to the Winner's Match. Today when the matches were decided I thought that if I used that all-in it would go well. And Killer also went for a really greedy early build (laughs).
Q: Who do you want to face in the Round of 16?
A: It seems like Coca will advance second out of his group, but personally I'd like to be matched against a Terran. As long as it's a Terran, it's not a big deal who it is.
Q: What kind of changes has Patch 1.4.0 brought?
A: It's changed ZvP, because recently Fungal Growth had been a major part of the matchup. But ZvT has turned out well for me. I like the hellion and barracks changes, and also I don't use Fungal Growth much in that matchup.
Q: Could you say something to Zerg fans? Please brag for once (laughs).
A: I would like it if Zerg fans would believe in me and follow me.
Q: How was Genius's condition yesterday when he returned to the team house?
A: He got really upset when he missed his forcefields and lost his high templars. It can't be helped. It was just a mistake. I hope that next season he can fix his weak points and do well.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I want to thank our sponsors, Colony, Complexity, Creative Sound Blaster, and Center Point. I also want to thank my teammates for their help in practice.

Q: How do you feel about being the last hope for Protoss?
A: Because I'm the last remaining Protoss, there's a weight on my shoulders. I'm glad, but also since I had to defeat a teammate to advance I feel kind of strange. I had to win in order for Protoss fans to have someone to root for, but I'm not too happy that I had to win against Polt.
Q: There was a lot of activity between you and Polt at the Group Selection, but then just before the season you became teammates.
A: I completely couldn't have predicted it. While Polt was looking for a team, he received a lot of offers but because he rated our team higher, he accepted our offer. When the Director first told me the news, I tried to adjust to it with a positive outlook. It seems that Polt likes me.
Q: Since it was such an unthinkable teamkill, it didn't feel like a teamkill.
A: It seemed completely like a teamkill to me (laughs). Since we had some time to prepare for the first game to some degree, that was alright, but I practiced for the other games with the possibility of a teamkill in mind. Even if I had to beat Polt once it would be okay, but I then had to beat him twice to advance. It was my mistake. I should have won in the Winner's Match (laughs).
Q: Why is Protoss having a hard time? Objectively speaking.
A: I will speak really objectively. It's not whining. The state of Protoss is really bleak. It doesn't look like this patch is going to bring much of a change to Terran 1-1-1. Terran has essentially not needed to adapt to the patch. To be honest, Zerg was nerfed without any mistakes, which is pitiable (laughs). For a progamer, skill is the most important thing, but since the game balance can't stay within the normal range, I'd like to hear the opinion of the game developers. With respect to Protoss's current bad state, if they would listen to advice, it could be discussed logically, so I hope that they will contact players soon. I would like to talk about it honestly with David Kim while having a glass of soju.
Q: You've become the hope of all Protoss fans.
A: At some point, I suddenly became the last Protoss. Suddenly my Twitter mentions and Mini-homepage ranking went up. The fans call me the last remaining hero, so there's a weight on my shoulders. There were a lot of people who were worried about me even more than I was after the Protosses before me fell. But I don't really think like that. I have confidence that I can advance and win. I've been receiving a lot of interest, and this is the first time that's happened. I'd like to win in fall as the last remaining Protoss. A while ago Jangbi carried the fall legend, and I saw that he had his unique jackpot in the Starleague finals.
Q: Going forward, things will become very important. How does it feel?
A: I am the last remaining Protoss, and losing in the Round of 16 would be meaningless. It might be said that getting that far is good, but I don't feel that way. Playing Protoss is tough, but I will practice to the point of blood and nausea in order to rise to the highest position.
Q: There is also GSTL for you, with your games tomorrow.
A: I practiced for GSTL and the individual leagues simultaneously. Since the beginning of the season, our team's goal has been to achieve complete victory. After seeing our unified atmosphere, it seems that we will have a good result. I have confidence that we will not end in the Round of 4 tomorrow but get to the finals.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I hope that Protoss players won't beat and kick me until I drink once with David Kim, and then after that make the decision (laughs). Because I am the last Protoss, I have a responsibility and will practice very hard, so please cheer me on. I am sorry to Polt, but I sincerely want to welcome him to TSL.

Q: Thoughts on rising to the Round of 16 after so long?
A: I got through a group with 3 Terrans, so I'm happy. I'm happy that I was able to show that I've overcome my weaknesses.
Q: Your ZvT has really improved. What's the cause of this?
A: My teammates helped me a lot in practice. The quantity and quality of practice was very good. Through entering Slayers and working hard personally, I thought that I would be able to show good results.
Q: You avoided meeting Dongraegu in the Round of 16.
A: We Zergs have to survive together. First we have to combine our forces and eliminate the Terrans (laughs). I'm relieved to have avoided Dongraegu.
Q: Which part of your ZvT has improved the most?
A: Ensuring vision; my scouting has improved. I didn't play leisurely before, but now I am able to play much more precisely.
Q: It seems like you've had a lot of time to practice.
A: I have. I just kept practicing. Truthfully, when I was placed into Group H I was very burdened, and at a point I got tired of practicing (laughs). On top of that, it was a 3 Terran group (laughs).
Q: You will face Killer in the Round of 16.
A: Because of the patch, it seems that it won't be like before. But still, I feel confident. Since Killer is the last Protoss hope, I'm burdened by the reaction of the fans, but I cannot lose for their sake. I will definitely win.
Q: Do you think you can break the record of your best performance this season?
A: I will try to get a better result this season. If I get to the Round of 4, I will feel satisfied. I'm not sure about the finals. It's just in my imagination (laughs).
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: Kim Gayeon really takes good care of the team. I also want to thank Cella for helping me create strategies. I want to thank all my teammates. Also, thanks to NsHoSeo_Jjakji, Zenex's Hack and Kim Hyung Mo, MVP_Dream, and FXO_asd (laughs).

Q: You've gotten to the Code S Round of 16 after a long time. How do you feel?
A: It was a really long time. I'm very happy. Up until this season I kept getting knocked out in the Round of 32 and things were difficult, but this time I took the Up and Downs as a chance to do better. It seems like I'm sustaining an upward trend, so I'm happy.
Q: The Up and Downs have helped you get good results?
A: To some degree it seems that way. During the Up and Downs I was able to adjust to broadcast play on the stage, and it helped my game sense too (laughs).
Q: During this time, you were knocked out in the Round of 32 twice in a row. What was the problem?
A: I was practicing neglectfully and lackadaisically. But today's games weren't like that. I poured all my strength into practicing and had a good result, so I'm glad.
Q: You had a lot of time to prepare for today's games.
A: Even though it was for a long time, I practiced really hard. I think even if I had lost today, I wouldn't have regrets. That's how satisfied I was with the extent of my practice. Of course, since I won I'm happier.
Q: You're scheduled to face Dongraegu in the Round of 16.
A: I will be meeting a very tough player. So I had wanted to advance first out of my group today. But it couldn't be helped. I've been through it, and I have to surmount this obstacle. I will practice diligently. He's not a player who I can't win against.
Q: It seems you wanted TOP to advance with you.
A: He saw my condition last season, and his heart ached. I hope that he doesn't get too distressed. This could be an opportunity. This could be a chance to improve. He will have the experience of seeing the Up and Downs once, and if he advances back out of them, he can use the momentum to recover.
Q: Today your play was generally aggressive.
A: In the past, I used to always play a defensive management style. I saw that and thought that playing aggressively could be good. So I prepared an aggressive build. No matter what, aggressive play feels more comfortable.
Q: What's your goal this season?
A: To win (laughs). I want to do my best in every game and show my improved form.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I want to thank my teammates, especially Illusion, for their help in practice. He's our team's youngest player, but he helps enthusiastically. I also want to thank our team's sponsor, Mom's Touch.
