Q: You've shown your first Code S games. How do you feel?
A: Until now, while I was practicing I was really stressed. Since I'm confident in my TvZ, I didn't know exactly how the games would go but I was worried about doing well in my first Code S. My teammates in Code S tease and say it's easy [T/N unsure on this one, he gives the word “철밥통”which my puny brain cannot comprehend], but once I had to practice for it I didn't feel that way. I practiced really hard. But then I won the games easily so I feel relaxed. (laughs)
Q: Last season you won Code A; did this have an effect on your games?
A: Even though it was Code A, having stage experience in the finals helped me. I was getting pretty nervous, but once I started playing the games I felt more relaxed than usual and things turned out well. In the games, feeling tranquil was a big help for me.
Q: You used a proxy 2 rax against Losira. Did the patch affect this at all?
A: I practiced to do this build before the patch. The patch made me worry about whether or not to use it. The patch didn't change it a ton, but the build had to be tweaked little by little. I know that the patch was meant to adjust Terran proxy rax, but it seems that it has ended up not changing it too much. Marineking still uses 11-11 rax a lot on ladder and wins. It seems that the patch was useless. But Protoss immortals have gotten really strong. (laughs) To be honest I was worried more about TvP than TvZ today. Since Patch 1.4.0 our team's Protoss have just been laddering quietly. It's the first time I've seen them practicing like that without complaining.
Q: Did you prepare mainly for the games against Zerg?
A: As soon as Hongun picked me I wanted to make it so the group had two Zergs. This is because I've confident in my TvZ. The process of preparing was hard, but more than with other races I was able to practice against Zerg enjoyably.
Q: Your start in your first Code S is good. What's your goal?
A: Ever since the Code A qualifiers, I've said my goal was to go to Blizzcon. It's the same now. But I have to prepare well for the coming games. I am practicing joyfully.
Q: Who would you like to advance second out of Group F?
A: It seems like I've seen a lot of Zergs lately. Protoss is weak lately, but in order to overcome my weaknesses I'd like to be matched with Genius. These days there are a lot of rising Protosses, and when I see those players they're strong and play well. I think that if I practice hard I will be able to overcome Protoss as if the patch had no effect.
Q: You have to compete in WCG too. Thoughts?
A: It seems like Terrans are taking over in WCG too. (laughs) But I'm happy to be matched up against MVP. I want to practice hard and win. It's been a while since I've played at Yongsan so I don't know what to expect, but I hope that their computer specifications will be good.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: Lately Kim Gayeon, Boxer, and the Director have been getting tired. A lot of things are ending in this year's schedule, so I hope that they can cheer up. I also want to thank everyone for helping me in practice.

Q: You've returned to the Code S Round of 16. How do you feel?
A: Naturally I'm happy. I will practice so that I can rise even higher.
Q: Last season after you were knocked out with 2 losses, you had to play in the Up and Downs of death.
A: I heard that after you drop to the Up and Downs once, it's hard to come back. This is what the players say to each other. (laughs) But either way when I fell, I just thought “Show your force.” I couldn't show my force, but I think my 5-2 result wasn't too bad.
Q: In the first game, you faced Ganzi's proxy 2 rax. That's a very regrettable state of affairs.
A: The build was good, but I thought something like it might be coming. Starting next time, I absolutely won't struggle against a strategy like that. Even when it's not that way, I scout a lot, but in the future I will have to scout even more. I died to it once, but I won't die to it twice. (laughs)
Q: In the Loser's Game, you used hydras actively. Is this a usual style for you?
A: Since the beginning of the game I've liked hydras. I liked using them for special styles since the beginning. I know what kind of circumstances and timing you need for them to be powerful. Hydras depend on how they are used. If a person uses them well, they can be very strong.
Q: You were matched against July in the final game. Since it was ZvZ, that was kind of regrettable.
A: I wanted to advance to the Round of 16 with July, but this is too bad. But I hope that he won't worry. I will take on July's share and definitely win the tournament.
Q: This season there are really a lot of Terrans.
A: Balance is balance, but the maps are very good for Terrans. I'd like it if they were changed, but it's a shame. But a progamer has to do his best in the circumstances he is given. I will work hard so I can adapt and do well.
Q: MVP and Nestea are going to Blizzcon. It seems that you would want to go as well?
A: I don't just want to go to Blizzcon. Seeing them both win 3 times has motivated me a lot. (laughs)
Q: What do you think of Patch 1.4.0?
A: It seems the same. The Fungal Growth nerf makes things a little hard but it's not a big deal. In ZvT there's nothing major. If the barracks build time was nerfed, the build Ganzi used in the first game on Terminus shouldn't get used. [T/N he's saying like “the changes weren't major, since the strategies they targeted didn't change]
Q: Who do you want to advance first out of Group F?
A: I'd like to avoid the teamkill. I don't mind if it's a mirror match.
Q: You don't want to be matched against Jjaki? In the Up and Downs you lost to him.
A: Oh, good point. (laughs) I'd like to be rightly matched against Jjaki in the Round of 16 once.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: In many ways, I want to thank TeriousPrime, MarineKingPrime, and FXO_asd. I want to thank my younger brother Hyuk-Jae. (laughs) I want to thank IM_dreamertt for practicing with me until dawn yesterday, and I also want to thank IM_Seed, Park Si-Hyun, IM_Happy, IM_Yoda, and IM_True. The other day, Startale_Parting helped me a lot, but I couldn't say thank you during the interview. I was hoping to get interviewed so that I could thank him. I also want to thank the Director and Hyung Soo Nim for always helping us players.

Q: You've advanced to the Code S Round of 16 for the first time. How do you feel?
A: Last season, I had a long rest since I fell out so early. (laughs) This season I feel good.
Q: You got a 3 kill in GSTL. Your team lost, but you must personally feel fulfilled.
A: The team lost, but I did personally have a satisfactory result. After that, I think I will be able to relax more in broadcast games. It's regrettable that my team lost. It was alright for just me. (laughs)
Q: Even though it was weakened in Patch 1.4.0, you used the 1-1-1 in the first game.
A: My banshees killed a few probes, so during the first fight I thought I could win. But then my initial force was whittled away, and I won with my reinforcements. It seems like since those distances are so close, you can win no matter what. But still, the immortal has definitely gotten stronger.
Q: The 1-1-1 you used today hit earlier than the usual timing.
A: It was faster than usual. Because Genius's natural was fast, I thought that if my timing was late I wouldn't be able to end it. So my timing was accelerated.
Q: What did you think of the Winner's Match with Leenock?
A: I practiced with Losira and Nestea, so my TvZ was sufficiently practiced. The map was good and I was not very worried about beating my opponent once. The game went easily.
Q: You're matched with your teammate Losira in the Round of 16.
A: I was wondering when we would meet, but this is so early. (laughs) I will play like I usually do, but this will be my first teamkill. It seems like I'll have to return to the teamhouse and practice and try to tell him the news.
Q: What goal have you made for yourself this season?
A: I want to make it to the finals. I want to go to Blizzcon along with MVP and Nestea.
Q: What do you think of Patch 1.4.0 generally?
A: It's not good. (laughs) Because of the hellion change, TvT has totally changed. The builds I had set earlier got dismissed. I think I'll keep using mech in TvT, but I don't know how it will turn out. It seems like it won't be like before.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I prepared a lot for the Round of 32 this season. Because I had to practice all three matchups, I practiced a lot. I want to thank everyone on the team for helping me. The Protosses on the team really helped me with the 1-1-1. I want to thank IM_Ready for letting me practice the 1-1-1 against him. (laughs) I also want to thank IM_dreamertt who came today, and I hope to show good games with Losira in the Round of 16. I was hoping to avoid a teamkill in WCG on the weekend, but it seems like I'll be meeting up against MVP. (laughs)

Q: You've returned to Code S. How are you feeling?
A: Since I got through the Round of 32, I'm feeling good. I didn't care too much that it was a return. I just thought that I needed to get to the Round of 16.
Q: This is your first time getting to the Code S Round of 16.
A: During the long time when I was in a slump, I was thinking of this moment when I would advance. (laughs) It feels like I was training while I was in Code A.
Q: You only played versus Terran today. Was this good for you?
A: This is what I anticipated. It seemed like I would not meet the Protoss, lose in the Winner's Match on Terminus, and then advance through the final game. (laughs) I'm happy.
Q: You beat Jjakji twice to advance. Did you prepare specially for this?
A: In the first game, it seems like my opponent would go for a third command center after reactor hellions, so this was the build I put together. On Daybreak, it was an impromptu build. (laughs)
Q: You've received the nickname “Code A's Nestea.” (laughs)
A: Nestea is really good, but since it's “Code A” it's not too great. (laughs) Since I'm now in Code S, I'd like to be called “Code S's Leenock.”
Q: What's your goal for this season?
A: Since there are a lot of Terrans, I'm feeling confident. I will work so that I can keep advancing. I'll make it all the way to the finals. (laughs)
Q: You've been matched with the Terran Ganzi in the Round of 16.
A: I want to play against Terran, so I was sort of hoping to advance in second place. He won Code A and he is a good player, but because I don't think Ganzi is the absolute best Terran I feel confident against him.
Q: Have you gotten a lot of help with your comeback?
A: My friends are practicing a lot with me and it's really helping. FXO_asd and FXO_Gumiho have helped me a lot.
Q: These days “Go Dong Nyung” (Leenock's [T/N Lee Dong Nyung] teammate Gumiho's [T/N Go Byung Jae] nickname) has been doing well. What do you think?
A: He's a really good player in practice. He's very good and he knew how to play this well. It seems like he will win Code A. FXO_Twilight is good too, but since he's Protoss he might not be able to win. (laughs)
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I want to thank my Terran friends for helping in practice. I also want to thank Choya, who came with me to the GOM studio, and FXO_Boss.
