Hi, I'm sure none of you know me, but I'm currently a top diamond player who resolved a few days ago to stop sitting on his butt and make his way to masters. As a result, I've been laddering pretty hard for the last few days, hoping to make it soon.
My first day, on Thursday, I went a decent 6-4, playing and losing against 1 masters player. I was hanging around ranks 9-15 most of the time. Day 2, I had a pretty depressing losing streak that brought me out of top 25 even, but then a smaller win streak to finish the day at 7-5. Day 3 was saturday, and I decided to pretty much forego life in favor of ladder. I had a total of 2 runins with masters players, both of which I lost. However, I felt pretty good, finishing up with a record of 17-12. That led me to today.
Today, finally, I had some of the results of my practice appear. I went 1-3 in my first 4 games, but then I got a streak of zvz's (like 8 of them) in which my opponents went for silly cheese every game (7-9 pool and 10pool speedling or 10pool speedling/baneling). However, I am comfortable defending these with my standard 14/14. So, I ended up on a nice win streak, and along with a few non-zvz wins, I now find myself with 10 straight wins, solidly in #1 in my ground with 740 points. My last 2 games were wins against masters players.
So, I'm hoping to keep going with this today and get some more wins and hopefully be promoted to masters within the near future ^^
Update: I am finishing off today at 17-8 with a couple more wins against masters players, including one at 768 points.
