http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/09/18/7802623-gamers-solve-molecular-puzzle-that-baffled-scientists There are a couple of points that stood out to me: 1. It took less than 10 days for gamers in a collaborative enviornment to solve the decade long mystery 2. "Games provide a framework for bringing together the strengths of computers and humans" In response to this article, someone else brought up the link of the OP, and after watching it, there is some interesting stuff: most notably that we are virtuoso gamers, or those who have spent 10,000 hours playing games by the age of 21 - the same amount of time that students in the united states spend in their entire grade school career. What is the biggest wiki in the world on one subject? World of Warcraft. Jane, in her speech, closes with this question: What do you think happens next when we have millions, and soon to be billions, of virtuosos that have the four superpowers: Blissful productivity, social fabric, urgent optimism, and epic meaning?

It's also quite hypocritical since the main interests of the biggest game companies is to have people "hooked" on games. Much like drug dealers really.
