Many of you on TL.net will probably never heard about him, but I have to tell you anyway:

Bernhard Victor Christoph Carl von Bülow
or
Vicco von Bülow
and unforgettable (for us Germans)
Loriot
died yesterday at the age of 87!

He was one (maybe THE) of Germany's greatest comedian ... if we really want to use this term for his work! The German newspaper TAZ is comparing him to Peter Sellers or Buster Keaton; so you see what impact he had to us!

I could tell you much about him, but I just give you two of his most famous sketches, where he does more slapstick, so you maybe understand what he did in his time as Loriot!

uuuh, hard stuff for non-german people i think ^^
understanding and translating his jokes isnt that easy because of his very special way to bring the joke within the normal conversation.
btw, you mentioned two of his most famous jokes ... but where is the noodle-joke ? imo thats maybe much better to get used to him than most of the others (maybe except the crooekd picture joke).

well,with the death of loriot i would say the last of germanys old school comedian has passed away.
there are some older comedians left, but non of the really great one like Heinz Erhart, Heinz Rühman (if you want to call him comedian) and Loriot.

RIP Loriot, you are a piece of german comdian-history

RIP Loriot. Such a hard worker and crafter of some incredibly funny stuff.

edit: Oh man that first video. Loriot was always so painful to watch.

btw: in the end he says "The picture is crooked". =D
