Hey TL,
So it's my first actual vacation of the summer (yeah i know quite late) and my family and I are going to Boston. On our way to Boston, we will be stopping at Yale University and Brown University. And after about a 3 day stay at Boston, we will drive up to Arcadia and stay for once night. After that, we will head back down to Westport, MA for one night because my parents don't want to drive overnight from Arcadia to New Jersey.
But here are the real reasons that we are going:
Parents reason: To give me a motivation to get me into IVY League.
My reason: EAT THE BEST F-ING CLAM CHOWDER IN THE WORLD. And to see colleges...
Colleges we will be looking at: Yale, Brown, Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Tufts

I hear Boston is a really nice place. I would personally love to go to find out for myself, to check out Berklee music school, and stalk Mike Mangini a little...

You should check out Bodega if you can, especially if you're looking for some new kicks. It's a cool hidden sneaker store near the Berklee College of Music. One of my favorite Boston experiences was wandering into that little convenience store-looking shop and being totally confused before a hidden door on the back wall slid open and revealed the actual store.

Coincidence much-- my oldest brother is at Yale and my other brother is at Tufts. Boston is such a great place; I really suggest you go to Otto's pizza which is this hole-in-the-wall place across the street from Harvard's main gate. They've got plenty of strange (and delicious) flavors for cheap; my favorite was the bacon+onion+apple pizza.
There are some other great pizza places in New Haven that my brother took us to, but I forget what they were called >.<

There are like a million good colleges in the Boston area. You've named most of the big ones (and as I'm sure you know Yale and Brown are a few hours from Boston, and Tufts is a short drive outside the city), but there are some others worth mentioning: Boston University, Emerson College, Berklee, and Northeastern.
Hope you have fun on your vacation! Boston can be really nice this time of year ^^

Hey! I live just two blocks away from Brown, It's a really nice school. The campus is nice and Providence is actually a pretty underrated city. There's a lot to do and the food around here is amazing. The good chowder places around here are actually closer to the water, like in Jamestown, but if you want to treat yourself to something fancy, there's a seafood place called Hemenway's in the downtown area. As for good food, most stuff on Thayer street is good and there's a really good Korean BBQ truck that drives around town. Good luck on your search!

Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Tufts
I visited all these schools. Some of the most fun I've had was just playing tennis at MIT. If you're visiting to learn about the schools though, you'll probably go on one of those tours. They're a good way to learn about schools but there's a lot of walking and repetition involved(and here we have our dorms). I found it rather boring.
Try to find some other things to do maybe after your tours. Besides the food, there might be capture the flag or ultimate frisbee on campus for you to partake in?

I didn't spend as much time at the other colleges. No special reason, MIT just has a cool and cheap summer program for high school students.
I'm in no ways smart enough to attend.

My dream school is MIT (not a new story by any means) and it would be cool to go to a program there...was it MITES (I think it was called)? I'm sure admittance will not depend only on your scholarly intelligence, though, so you still should try for it if you did like your experience there.
I think OP should go play tennis there upon your recommendation, then. I am a tennis aficionado as well...do they have grass or clay courts (if so....aww yeah.)?

Going to sophmore at monty hs. Live in new jersey. A bit young to go see, but oh well. Thanks guys fIr tye comments so far. Mmmmmmm korean bbq sounds good.

I actually went to both places in June this summer. While I was there I checked out Tufts, Boston College, Northeastern and Boston University. I strongly recommend you take a look at Tufts and especially Boston College, the campus of Boston College is amazing and I hope to attend their in 2012. Also while in Acadia if you enjoy bike riding I highly recommend you biking some of the Carriage Trails or if your into heights hike the Precipice or Beehive Trail.

False. I went to fisherman wharf and all the places that give u good food there. Crab is friggin amazing, clam chowder was great, but i think bosron is the best. We shall c after im dOne there

@OP definitely get some Korean BBQ :3 Not sure as to their quality, but you gotta eat some regardless. Also, SF has best clam chowder. You must have bought from the wrong place or something because that shizzle is supposed to be absolutely delicious--I'm pretty close to San Francisco and actually go there semi-regularly.
