i bought this in Sofia (bg)
the pix dont show it very well. its finely carved out of wood and looks firey and mischievous
it might be some buddha type thing
the image is a like a bearded chinese -ish head in a robe, between his arms is an antlered deer sucking on a branch, and a little bald man/monk/goblin, i think hes holding a crown or a nut in the middle . to the northeast, above the little man, lies a bat
|
I came into this thread expecting something about Diablo II...
|
As I wear the unidentified object a pale red glow envelops my body. I feel somewhat stronger.
|
what does he hold in his hand and is the animal a giraffe?

Keep it secret. Keep it safe.
|
It's really cool whatever it is bro. It definitely isn't buddha, the dude has a fu manchu
is that one dude rubbing the deer's butt?
|
what is the thing on the top right side?
im very curious about this now lol
im also curious about the design in the man's forehead
|
|
|
oh maybe that's supposed to be a unicorn and not a deer?
|
after some research I have concluded that this is at least a rare, and may be a unique. you should take it to deckard cain immediately.
|
Why is this not a diablo 2 thread.. WTF
|
omg thanks well done!!
if you google for more pix , the red wood is sandlewood and you can see him with a deer, the peach, and even the little man!!
|
the bat - a visual pun for "good fortune" or happiness the deer - The Chinese believe the deer lives to a very great age and, as a result, has become a symbol for long life the man - As his name implies, Shou symbolizes a long life.
woooot
|
wondering who the little man is still tho, i saw him in another pic
i think he must be:
These twin laughing immortals are known as the Gods of Peace and Harmony, the Gods of Unity and Harmony, Hehe erxian (和合二仙), the Laughing Twins and the Gods of Mirth. One twin is named Shi De (拾得) who usually holds a lotus. The other twin is Han Shan (寒山) who may hold a round box, ruyi sceptre, gourd, coin, persimmon, etc. They represent harmony and mirth and bestow blessings on marriages.
that would explain the plant he is holding and the deer is eating

That's not a little man, that's a male child.
It's a symbol of luck/happiness because everyone wants a male son.
The deer symbolizes "wealth" because they sound the same.
The peach symbolizes longevity because, in the legends, there is a type of sacred peach that grants additional years of life.
So you have Fu-Lu-Shou all in one amulet.
This amulet could also be Japanese, "Fukurojuku" is the name.
And yes, I'm fucking awesome, now go lift some iron.

Whoa that was a nice find :O

Everything you said makes sense except the male child part.
It looks like the Shou Star God to me because of the beard and moustache.
