Remember when you were a boy in the 80s and you said at some point that My Little Pony sucks and Transformers kicked ass? Isn't it weird that the tables have turned when we got really sucky ass Transformers (save for Optimus Prime) yet we got a really damn good My Little Pony series? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS WORLD!!!!!?????
Seriously, at first I never bothered with the MLP animated series, even though I know a lot of buddies who are "bronies". After a couple of fan-made comics based on MLP like Ponycraft and even a fan-made Starcraft 2 trailer of the same name, I kinda thought of giving the series a chance. I must say that it got me at Episode 1 alone.
Like a lot of Hasbro cartoons, I expected the series to be half-assed in terms of story and act like a mere advertisement for it's toys. However, the story in the reboot is simple yet so complex that it got me hooked into the series in general. I could say that it's become a guilty pleasure, but the series is so good that everyone regardless of age or sex can legitimately enjoy. No wonder the series has a large following on the internet.
It's from the same people that made the Powerpuff Girls. What were you expecting. As of today, it's still one of the coolest theme songs in cartoons. About 20% cooler, in fact.
Well, after so much i've seen around about this show, i dedicded to check it out just out of curiosity. It turned out to be crappy kid show awful as pokemon. I am either too old to understand or maybe to young... 25yo.
I was highly skeptical for an extremely long while as well, thinking that it is just the biggest organized troll in history. But then I saw most of the forums I go to getting invaded by this MLP: FiM craze as well. And never before has irony been so undistinguishable from sincere interest, as most posts seemed very honest, coming from even previously thought-to-be rather coldhearted elitists who however seemed to have got somehow converted and joined this fandom.
Ironically, I got converted after seeing this TL blog about the show: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=199658 and had honestly never been so happy before in my entire life, so I have one more thing to thank TL for. It's still irrational and inexplicable how this show manages to have such an extremely positive effect on most people but yeah, in the end the reason doesn't even really matter I guess.
