I can't believe this still is needed but religious and gun control side discussions will be met with harsh penalties from page 52 and onwards. |

Okay I've gone from remorseful to angry. Norway's police system is partially at blame here, sorry, maybe I'm speaking in anger, but that is downright unacceptable. With the bombings having just happened just prior, there should have been reaction teams or whatever you want to call them on standby. Should have been a within-minutes response. That would explain it, sure, but that does not by any means let Norway's police off the hook. Wow, I don't even know what to say, I'm gonna go ahead and stop and let more facts unravel before making any judgments.

They propably wanted to spend their time on other stuff than updating newspapers every time they found and confimed another kill.
They never release any information before family has been informed, and it took a while to start the search on and around the island because of the explosives. They had to fly out a bomb team from the military to secure the island first. And a country in shock don't need speculations. The number is expected to rise during the night as they search the waters.

I see a Lot of "He", "That Man" rather than a group identity or Racial Attachment. All the Rage and Vitrol dissuaded when we learn he's a white man. we suddenly become more understanding and saddened.
No More "Muslims", "Them","Religion" Detaching this Criminal's Hate from your Hate.
interesting to say the last especially when you see several people's tone change in the same thread.

bt.no has tonight recieved information that the culprit was talking in a headset during the massacre. Several eyewitnesses have observed this.
bt.no får opplyst at gjerningsmannen brukte lyddemper, i hvert fall til å begynne med, og at det derfor tok tid før AUF-erne skjønte hva som var i ferd med å skje.
bt.no has been informed that the culprit used a silencer, at least in the beginning, and that is the reason why AUFers(the labour party members) didnt realise right away what was happening.

Unacceptable. As soon as the first shot rang out - the first call to 9-11 dialed - armed response units should have been at the scene within minutes. There is no excuse here given what I see in front of me. Until more facts come forward I'm going to go ahead and say I'm very very disappointed in this ordeal. Lots of lives could have been saved.

It's a 30-45 min drive from Oslo to get there. And it's on an island where so the police needs to take a boat to get there. They could prolly take an helicopter aswell but I would imagine that would have some risks aswell. Please do not talk out of your ass and ask for a withing minute response when that is clearly not possible. Im sure they did what they could as fast as they could. And also remember that ALOT of resources were tied up at the boming in Oslo.

It was on an island. That ought to explain it.

What happened was: 1. He blew up the place where the government work in the capital of Norway 2. He took his car and drove to Utøya 3. He was dressed as a cop and told the AUF(youth labor party) people that he was a cop that would explain what had happened in Oslo, and asked them to help him carry a big box to the room where he would tell them what happened 4. He opened the box and shot everyone he could.
The reason it took so long was before everybody was in Oslo, which is a long way from Utøya.

In norway, that group is called Freemasons. There is not only one type, but several forms of freemasonry, with many million members together. But it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme, now does it.

Right. Let's settle some misconceptions about the Norwegian way of punishing criminals. The maximum jail time for murder is 21 years. However, you can be put into what we call "Forvaring". Forvaring is basically the same as prison, but instead of being there as your punishment, you are deemed to dangerous to be put back into society. This sentence can be up to 21 years. When the sentence is almost up, the persons behavior and current situation will be reaccessed, and if he is deemed fit to go back to society, he will be let into society. If he is deemed unfit, he can be put into another 5 years of Forvaring. This process repeats until the person is either let back into society, or he dies.

80 people atleast were killed out of 560. If my calculations are correct thats 14% of the people that were on the Island died. That's every 7th person shot.
