I do think, however, that every good blog needs a picture, if only one of a kitty totally unrelated to the story. Yeah, blogs nowadays certainly needs more kittens. Definitely.
Agreed, as well as input from people who love kittens

"A blog a day? this sure is going to get old quick!", "Nobody can be that interesting!" But as the days rolled over and the blogs kept coming... and coming.. and coming...My view slowly started to change, at first i kept coming back for the comments. I laughed to myself, "Man these 5 pages of comments are freaking hilarious." and thought, "who cares what she actually posts, the community is whats really making these blogs good." (ok this is a slight exaggeration) As more and more time passed, i realized that although i still looked forwards to reading the comments the actual content was becoming more interesting to me. I found your tales of blizzcon to be pretty entertaining and now to cap it off you came out with this blog. Which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, (and slightly jealous that you had such an awesome introduction to starcraft, but thats ok i'll forgive you for that one ). I think.. i'm a convertee.
Haha, well, I hope my blogs will continue to entertain you! I promise you, "Riku's Third Blizzcon" will be the most entertaining by far out of the convention blogs, but I have so much to write for it, that I'm really procrastinating!

One of my cats:
And, yes, it's Day[9]. He is just as awesome irl as he is on his show. Actually, I think he can be even more humorous in person because he doesn't hold back on his jokes at all. I really enjoy talking to him, he always has the absolute best advice and can calm me down and make me happy no matter what is distressing me!
Also, I tend to link him every post/article that I find where people express how happy he makes them and how he's helped them out. They all make him really, really happy. I think his fans don't understand how much their kind words brighten his day! Casting so much can be uber stressful! Since he doesn't get to see his audience, he can't tell how much joy and laughter his giving to people! So don't hold back, tell him how awesome he is!

Your sacrificial cat picture was deemed sufficient. We are pleased.

Don't make threats you cannot keep.
Here's the scenario,
You start going out with someone and meet their family for the first time. Dad, brother, Sally or Sue takes you aside and tells you if you do anything to hurt their daughter/sibling they will do xyz to you. The reality: no they won't. One thing I learned a long time ago is not to make promises you cannot keep. Likewise, this is what I tell anyone who tries to white knight.
That's not to say on the rare occasion they won't (I've heard a few stories, but even then they're just stories). I know quite a few loose cannons who are well-versed in fights. Once again, it's all hearsay or better yet hype.
Word of advice: drop the complex. It gets old and people will just laugh at you.

Back to the matter at hand,
Riku I'm going to be very blunt.
Why the heck do you care about being accepted on this board? Before you say you aren't, look at the ice breaker you unwittingly used. I love scenarios and examining human behavior so here's another one:
You go out to the bar with a friend. Your friend introduces you to a few of their friends and you mingle. Your new contact cracks a lame joke you normally wouldn't laugh at; however, you crack a smile and giggle. The reality: you tell yourself it was a stupid joke yet you still laugh because you are looking for their acceptance. Tada!
*
The more I read, the more I'm led to believe you are gamer who craves attention. Once again, it's all meaningless and has little to no merit because I don't actually know you. I'm not the type of person who judges someone based solely off their cover. This leads me to my next question: What intrinsic value do you get out of all this?

Cats are my one weakness too. The cat's name is a very odd coincidence as well. I'm rather baffled at this moment. Hm.

So uh... Pretty sure Day is the greatest human being alive...

I just really enjoy writing blogs.
O.o
If I wanted attention, I'd go back to playing WoW or go hang out more at the AFK Tavern. Hell, I'd at least post more pictures of myself.
As for cats... have I mentioned mine are table-trained?
Edit: You have to realize I also work 10 hour days where the only thing I can do with my spare time when I am letting my data run is write. Blogs are a slight procrastination to the actual stories I'm supposed to be finishing up.

Hm that's a nice cat picture. I'll be honest, this blog lost my attention, but I'm sure it's fine. I really just opened it as I saw your comment/picture from SirJolt's proposter blog. I like the cat picture though.
Edit: you seem to be getting alot of crap for some reason that I can't be bothered to learn. So despite not reading it, I'll rate this a 5. If nothing else because there's plenty of blog nazi's around already.

I must admit, while I like the subject I wrote on, I think I could have written it much better than I did. Alas, I'm too lazy to rewrite and edit...
Thanks for the 5, though!

I usually read the beginning, skim the rest, and hope the person has made some glaringly unrealistic claim and then I move straight to the comments and wait for the side-show to begin.

Ah, yeah, I understand what you mean about reading personal blogs. I didn't exactly plan on writing a "guy blog," but I wanted to explain why I got into Starcraft and I really couldn't without talking about Sean.

Wasn't white knighting but I can see how it looks that way.
I was also just going to embarrass people online and troll them.
Yeah so I just didn't want people to be like "oh you go to teamliquid? hardeehar, you buncha nerds, how's that queen you unanimously elected and all fawn over?!"

Making thinly veiled references to day9 couldn't save it from being bad (in fact they made it worse, no one likes when some drops names for no reason other than attention). This sounded just like every other noob who wants to tell the world about how they started playing sc2, just search "hello" and you'll see what I'm talking about.
I've never rated your blog before but since I saw you complain I decided to give you justification.
She didn't drop any names, and hell I wouldn't have guessed that, but then again I don't really care about SC2, either. I liked the read, and I barely read any blogs on here, it was a nice story.
As for ratings, I've never used them, and I don't think I ever will, neither have I even ever checked any rating of my blogs, since.. who gives a damn?

Let me get this straight...
When you get writer's block you come here and post blogs about yourself or gaming. When I get writer's block I like to busy myself with other things that have nothing to do with writing. You on the other hand like to write more. If that's the case how about writing about something else or try bowel movement writing. Branch out.
You could always make posts about your projects as well. It might be more beneficial. You say people rarely give you advice. There's mine.
I think I should have placed more emphasis on acceptance in my spiel. There is a slight difference between attention and acceptance.

More cat pictures. Peachy.
P.S. I noticed your comments on Vindictus and no one inviting you to play. Here's the deal. Everyone I know plays on the East Server. You are on the West. I have no idea who actively plays on the West. Even the guys I know based out of Cali and Hawaii play on the East. There's a valid reason why the East won the last event. I've tried resurrecting/updating the Vindictus thread a few times but it would get very few responses. You can try yourself though or roll a character on East and you can come join us.

I can confirm Day9 is not only amazing in general but freakin hilarious in person.
He came near DC one time and hung out with us NoVA/DC nerds (we went bowling LOLL) and was cracking hilarious jokes like the ENTIRE time.
Forever <3 you day9
Crazy small world that you got to meet him in college like that riku... how I envy both of you (you for getting to hang with day9 in college and learn starcraft from him etc, him for doing nothing other than sit in a room playing video games and having a cute girl walk up and introduce herself... so lucky!)
