-오랜만에 스타리그에서 승리를 거뒀다.
▶최근 개인전을 할 때 많이 떨렸다. 그런데 팀플레이에는 확실하게 자신감이 있다. 그래서 오늘은 팀플레이의 할 때의 마음가짐을 되새기며 경기했다. 스타트를 잘 끊은 것 같아 기분이 좋다. 나머지 경기도 승리를 거둬 8강까지 가겠다.
-It's been a long time since you won a match in the OSL. (It's been like 584 days or something since he missed like 5 seasons)
▶I have been shaky in the individual matches lately, but I am confident in the 2v2 matches. So I went into the match today with the heart I have when I go into the teamplay matches. I am feeling good that I started out well. I will win the rest of the matches to Reach (XD) the round of 8s.
-So1 스타리그 이후 오랜만에 올라왔는데. 스타리그 분위기는 어떤가.
▶그 때나 지금이나 스타리그에 올라온 선수들은 역시 대단하다. 정말 잘 하는 선수들이라는 느낌이 있다. 이번에 같이 스타리그에 오른 프로토스인 김택용 선수나 송병구 선수에게도 많이 배우고 있다.
-It's the first OSL since the So1 OSL. What's the atmosphere like now?
▶The times may have changed, but everyone that comes up in the OSL are great. I feel that many of them play really well. I am learning from the other protoss players in the OSL, namely Kim Taek Yong (Bisu) and Song Byung Goo (Stork).
-라이벌을 자처했던 변형태와의 경기는 어땠나.
▶연습을 할 때의 승률은 그다지 좋지 않았다. 어려운 경기가 될 것이라고 예상했는데 빌드 상성에서 앞설 수 있어서 보다 편하게 경기를 풀어나갈 수 있었다.
-How was the match against Iris, who called himself your rival?
▶The winning percentage wasn't very good while I practiced. I expected a tough game but I was ahead in the build order so I was able to comfortably play out the game.
-견제 플레이가 돋보였다.
▶아까도 말했지만 최근에 개인전이 정말 떨려서 실수도 많이 했다. 해야 할 견제도 잘 못하고 하는 경우가 많았다. 그런데 마음을 편하게 가지고 숙소에서 연습하듯 신발도 벗고 경기했다. 또 요즘 심리치료를 받고 있는데 그것도 큰 도움이 됐다. 마음이 편하니 견제도 잘 먹혔던 것 같다. 오늘은 연습 때 보다 모든 컨트롤이 200퍼센트 이상으로 발휘됐다. 스스로 만족하는 경기가 많지 않은데 오늘 경기는 만족스럽다.
-Your harrassment plays were amazing today
▶I said before but lately I've been making a lot of mistakes in the individual games because I was nervous. There were many cases where I didn't harrass the opponent even though I knew I should have done it. But today I played comfortably as if I was practicing, even taking off my shoes (!) I think the harrassment came out well because my mind was comfortable. Today I was able to perform 200% and above how I played in practice games. I don't have many games where I am satisfied but I am very satisfied by my game today.
-연습은 어떻게 했나.
▶팀 내 연습생들이 많이 도와줬다. 강정우, 이영호 선수가 밤 늦게까지 연습해줬다. 특히 강정우 선수는 새벽 3시까지 계속 함께 연습해줬다. 너무 고맙다.
-How did you practice.
▶The team practicers (the people training behind the main players) helped me a lot. Kang Jung Woo, Lee Young Ho (By.Flash) helped me late into the night, especially Kang Jung Woo, who practiced with me until 3AM. I am very thankful.
-경기 끝나고 팬들의 연호를 들었나.
▶들었다. 그 연호를 듣는 순간 심장이 마구 떨렸다. 지금까지도 떨림이 가라앉지 않는다. 언제나 성원해주시는 팬들께 너무 감사드린다. 앞으로 더욱 좋은 모습 보여드리겠다.
-Did you hear the fans chanting your name after the game.
▶I heard them. My heart started beating really hard at that moment. I am still shaking. I am so thankful for the fans that keep supporting me. I will show better performance in the future.

-개막전 승리를 거뒀다.
▶연습 과정이 힘들었는데 승리를 하게 돼 기쁘다. 출발이 좋은 것 같다. 지난 시즌은 첫 경기를 졌는데 이번에는 승리로 시작하게 돼 마음 편하게 갈 수 있을 것 같다.
-You won the opening match.
▶I am happy that I won because the practice games were tough. I started off on a good note. Last season I lost the first match but since I won the first match this time I am much more comfortable.
-초반 저글링 관리에 신경쓰는 모습이었다.
▶오늘 경기는 대부분 장 육 선수와 연습했다. 장 육 선수가 저그로 플레이하고 내가 테란으로 하면서 보완할 부분을 찾았다. 장 육 선수가 내게 저글링 관리를 신경쓰라고 하더라.
-You seemed to take care of your zerglings in the early game.
▶I practiced with Jang Yook (Jy) for today's game. Jang Yook played zerg and I played terran and I looked for holes to cover. Jy told me to take care of my zerglings.
-마지막에 최연성의 저항이 거셌다.
▶울트라가 생산되기 직전 드롭십이 떨어졌을 때 깜짝 놀랐다. 저글링을 3부대 정도 잃었다. 생각보다 6시 지역도 빨리 파괴돼서 당황했다. 초반에 상대를 가난하게 만들어두지 않았다면 역전 당할 뻔 했다.
-Choi Yeon Sung (Oov) strongly resisted at the end.
▶I was really surprised when the dropships came right before the ultras came out. I lost about 3 groups of zerglings. I started to panic because I lost the 6:00 expansions faster than I thought as well. If I didn't make Oov poor at the beginning he might have come back.
-최연성과의 상대전적 차이를 더욱 벌렸다.
▶상대전적은 크게 신경쓰지 않는다. 언제든지 다시 좁혀질 수도 있는 것이기 때문이다.
-You further increased the gap in your game history with Choi Yeon Sung.
▶I don't really think about the gaming history. The gap can alwayas be mended.
-스타리그 우승자 징크스는 어떻게 생각하나.
▶신경 쓰지 않는다. 우승자 징크스가 오든 안 오든 관계없다.
-What do you think about the OSL winner's curse?
▶I don't care about it. I don't care whether the curse hits me or not.
-프로리그 일정이 많아 개인리그 준비가 힘들 것 같다.
▶개인적으로는 프로리그에 보다 집중하고 있지만 개인리그도 함께 잘 하려고 노력하고 있다.
-It must be hard to prepare for the individual leagues since you are busy with Proleague.
▶I personally focus more on Proleague but I strive to do well in the individual leagues as well.

-16강 첫 경기에서 승리를 거뒀다.
▶몰래 로보틱스를 발견했을 때 부터 이것만 막으면 이길 수 있다는 생각이 들어 긴장이 됐다. 이기고 나니 긴장이 풀렸다. 오늘 승리를 바탕으로 계속 이겨나가고 싶다.
-You won the first match in the round of 16s
▶When I found the robotics facility I knew I could win if I block this and I tensed up. I relaxed after I won. I want to keep winning like I won today.
-송병구와의 상대전적이 4대0으로 벌어졌다. 천적이라 할 만 한데.
▶아직 네 번 밖에 맞붙지 않았다. 그 정도로는 천적이라고 하기 힘들지 않나. 송병구 선수가 많이 분하긴 할 것 같다. 내가 오영종 선수에게 잘 이기지 못하는 것 같은 기분일 것이다.
-Your history with Song Byung Goo (below Stork) is now 4:0. It's enough to say you are Stork's natural enemy.
▶I've only played him 4 times. I can't say I am his natural enemy yet. I think Stork really is frustrated though. He probably feels the way I feel because I can't win against Oh Yong Jong (Anytime)
-연습은 어떻게 했나.
▶연습 때는 셔틀 리버에 큰 피해를 받았다. 그런데 잘 막아내서 그 다음도 잘 풀렸다. 프로리그 경기가 바로 내일이어서 연습을 많이 하지는 못했다. 윤용태 선수가 시간나는 대로 도와줬다. 처음에는 맵이 좀 힘들다고 생각했는데 연습을 좀 하다 보니 나름대로 방법을 찾았다. 할 만 하다는 생각으로 임했다.
-How did you practice.
▶I received a lot of damage against shuttle/reaver in practice. But since I blocked it well everything worked out smoothly from there. I couldn't practice much for today beucase the Proleague match is tommorow. Yoon Yong Tae (Free[gm]) helped me whenever he had time. I initially thought the map was hard but after some practice I found a way to play the map. I played today saying to myself "I can do this".
-프로리그에서는 성적이 좋지 않았다.
▶프로리그 경기가 있을 때 마다 이상하게 컨디션이 좋지 않아서 이길 수 있었던 경기도 지곤 했다. 이제는 컨디션 조절에 힘써서 팀이 승리할 수 있도록 돕겠다.
-You are not doing very well in Proleague.
▶For some reason my condition wasn't very good at every proleague match and I ended up losing games that I could have won. I will take care of my condition so I can help the team win.
-이번 시즌에 임하는 목표라면.
▶8강 이상 오르는 것이 목표다. 8강까지 오르면 자신감을 얻어서 더 좋은 성적을 낼 수 있을 것 같다.
-What is your goal for this season.
▶I would like to reach higher than the round of 8s. I think I will gain some confidence and play better if I can get there.

-첫 경기를 승리로 장식했다.
▶16강으로 시작하는 스타리그에서 첫 승으로 시작하게 돼 느낌이 좋다. 이번 스타리그는 좋은 성적 거둘 수 있을 것 같다.\
-You decorated the first game with a win.
▶I feel good that I won the first match. I think I will be able to do well in this OSL.
-치열한 공방전이었다.
▶벌처를 활용해 스파이더 마인으로 시야를 많이 확보한 것이 주효했던 것 같다. 정보전에서 앞서는 것이 중요하다.
-The match was an intense offense/defense battle.
▶I think having the spider mines in his base helped me greatly because I was able to gain vision in that area. It is important to be ahead in the information battle.
-연습은 어떻게 했나.
▶지금 팀이 프로리그에서 주춤하고 있어서 프로리그를 중점적으로 연습했다. 그렇게 많이 준비하지는 못했지만 우리 팀의 박성진 선수가 정말 열심히 도와줘서 큰 도움을 받았다. 팩토리를 날리는 전략도 박성진 선수가 알려줬다. 고맙다.
-How did you practice.
▶My team is frozen right now in the Proleague so I have been focusing on proleague lately. I didn't get to prepare much or today but my team's Park Sung Jin (no idea who this is) helped me greatly. He even told me the strategy of flying the factory over. I am thankful.
-다음 상대가 이윤열이다.
▶이윤열 선수는 테란전을 참 잘하는 선수다. 살짝 겁이 나지만 변수로 승부하겠다. 질 것 같지는 않다.
-Your next opponent is Lee Youn Yul (Nada)
▶Lee Yoon Yul is a very good TvT playe. I am slightly araid but I will by attacking him unexpectedly. I don't think will lose.
-조 지명식에서 도발을 많이 당했는데.
▶선수들이 나를 싫어하는 것 같다. 이유는 잘 모르겠다(웃음).
-People pushed you around a lot in the group selection ceremony.
▶I don't think the other players like me. I don't know why. (laugh)
-내일도 MSL 경기가 있다.
▶아직까지 내일 경기는 연습하지 못했다. 숙소에 돌아가서부터 다시 연습할 생각이다.
-You have a MSL game tomorrow.
▶I still haven't been able to practice for tomorrow's match. I will get back to the practice room and practice for tomorrow.
-지난 시즌 성적에 아쉬움이 많을 것 같다.
▶처음 진출한 스타리그에서 뼈아픈 패배를 당했던 것이 약이 됐다. 이번 시즌은 4강까지 오르고 싶다. 4강에 오른 후에는 결승으로 목표를 수정하겠다.
-The results from last season were disappointing.
▶Losing miserably in my first OSL helped me in the long run. I want to reach the semifinals this year. If I get up there I will reset my goals to get to the finals.
