We got a chance to talk to both the WCS 2012 and 2013 champions at Red Bull NYC.
Woongjin_sOs sOs talked about his thoughts on being called creative, his relationship with Dear, and whether or not he's the best player in the world. Also, some kind words for his fan NaNiwa!
SKT_PartinG PartinG talks about joining SKT and gaining 24kg in weight, getting over his HotS slump, and his burning desire to entertain everyone like a mofo. Choo-Choo!
I think this interview confirms that sOs has the best grasp of managing/controlling his "mindset" towards the sole goal of winning. Really interesting confirmation that the way he approaches BoX is truly above other top players on his caliber.
edit: OMG the sOs banner/poster on the right just stares into your soul
I'll be honest here... Red Bull Battle Grounds is not exactly a top-tier tournament in terms of player lineup... Plus, it's only 8 players. The matches at Blizzcon were not impressive enough for me to consider the winner "best player in the world", but they are at least up there.
I think one could make a really good argument that Mvp was the best player in the world for quite some time in 2011, but sOs right now? Ehhhhh....
Wish he didn't have such a reserved personality, even if it is more standard for their culture. Makes him less fun to root for as a player. I like him regardless though because I think he has a fun playstyle that makes up for it.

by contradiction: who is? Turns out big tournaments are the best 'somewhat objective' way to determine top1 atm, Shy has won the biggest.
If sOs can take out dreamhack and this, then continue to take the first Code S of next year then I would say he has been the top player in the world for a few months.

Lol who has ever done that in starcraft 2 by those standards? By the way he's playing, it seems it's either him or Dear at the moment. No one else is showing top form like those 2 recently, going by results I would absolutely say he is the best in the world right now. If someone else makes an amazing run, we'd have to reconsider but right now sOs is on the throne until someone proves otherwise.

I personally found his games at Blizzcon very impressive. No matter who he was playing against, he always made it look easy.
Its hard to tell the eligibility if sOs could be the best. As long as one race is not equally balanced with other races, it requires less skill to win. If we are looking for win ratio rather than skill requirement than Yes - sOs perhaps the best right now.
