I like how the only two people Wax interviewed there are the guys that ended up in the final, that clairvoyance!

Quite appropriate also, 2012 WCS World Champion vs 2013 WCS World Champion.

Parting failed to top 5 in the most recent GSL so wasn't at the season 3 finals, both tourneys won by Dear. He also didn't have the points to qualify for blizzcon so wasn't there either. There really isn't an argument for Parting as the best protoss atm. It's Dear and if not him it's sOs.

there are only 5 players in Korea that have made to GSL top 16 every season in 2013: Innovation, Soulkey, Flash, Soo, Parting. Pretty impressive list, isn't it? He is still a top toss even in his down year.

Technically, PartinG made it to the Ro8 in all GSLs this year. (lost in Ro16 in OSL)

I don't think anyone is saying parting isn't a top toss. Just wouldn't say the best, I agree with the statement. I personally think Dear is the best protoss still. To me he is just a scarier player to me then sos. But maybe sos can change that around, for now though sos is obviously a really good protoss, I just find dear better still.

just a reminder, the negation of a disjunction is a conjuction of negations, so just because he didn't win, doesn't mean he isn't the best..

Yeah I want to give the edge to Dear, too, but it's all pretty close at the top. No clear #1 overall best. Just comes down to who is on their game that day

I'd put sOs and Dear about neck and neck on top with PartinG a half step behind yet.

I would give the edge to Dear too. I do think Parting is great at Bo3 which his aggressive style fits him the best. In a longer series, if one of his risky builds failed miserably, he tends to lose the composure a lot. We will see how he can improve on that this year.

sOs is an interesting guy. Are there any other interviews with him? Even the way he speaks and sits is interesting.
Can we help spread the word and create pressure to get Rob Pardo to replace Browder as head of Sc2? Pardo led the team for broodwar, frozen throne, and wow/BC. We need to make this a thing before LotV development starts. Think about it.

Haha, thanks a lot.. love that PartinG interview. Makes me wish I knew another language.. would be awesome to be able to communicate with another culture so fluently. Seems like Korean would be a difficult language to master, though.

Surprisingly - Korean (being a language isolate) is a relatively easy language to learn...one year and a half of study and working in Seoul and you will be able to speak and listen quite well...their alphabet is nice too...writing is harder than reading as the order of how each letter constructed is important when writing...

Anyway it goes like this this in terms of learning asiatic languages: hardest to easiest (for native Indo European speakers).

Mongol
Cantonese
Mandarin
Thai
Vietnamese
Indonesian
Japanese
Korean

According to Prof. John Mcwhorter (One of the world's leading linguists).

The sentence "If I win Red Bull, I will be the best" is not a disjunction, it's an implication A→B, where A: sOs is the Red Bull champion and B: sOs is the best player in the world.

Furthermore we're not negating the entire sentence, since the result of Red Bull doesn't mean that the implication is false, but that A is false. The implication only tells us that if A is true then so is B. B can be true even if A is false.

So yes, he can still be the best player in the world.

So sOs actually copied a NaNiwa strat, interesting. Thanks for the interviews!

Scarlett by the way looks absolutely stunning on that Red Bull backwall.
