Flash, "I want to set an even more impressive record of reaching the finals in both leagues two seasons in a row "
"Next season I will make sure to do well in all three leagues"
- Your feelings on being the first player to qualify for the semis in both leagues two seasons in a row?
▲ I’m very happy that I was able to get to the semis for both leagues two seasons in a row. Lately I’ve been so busy that I forgot that I had gone to the finals for both leagues last season, but I will work doubly harder so that I can set the more impressive record of getting to the finals of both leagues two seasons in a row.
- Did last week's loss have an effect on you?
▲ I just thought that I lacked a lot. Last time we had a long game with battlecruisers so I prepared hard to get revenge using battlecruisers again today but I’m happy that I was able to win without the game extending that far.
- Do you think your wealth of experience with BoX matches helped?
▲ Since it was MVP’s first time in a BoX, I thought that I was at an advantage, so I purposely prepared my builds the way I did to utilize that fact, and it worked out as I planned.
- Who do you want to meet in the semis?
▲ Both free and HiyA are strong players so I believe either player would be a challenge, so I’ll just prepare very hard so that I could show really good games for the fans.
- Did you come prepared with the proxy rax builds?
▲ I did plan that. Because I was behind 0:1, I expected MVP to 14cc at least one game. Because of this I prepared a proxy rax build. In that way I think the two games worked out perfectly.
- If your proxy rax build was defended in the 2nd set, were you still planning on using it again in the 3rd set?
▲ That was my original plan. I also prepared for a management game if it lead to that so I was overflowing with confidence today.
- Then do you think the games today ended far earlier than you expected?
▲ It did end a lot sooner than I expected so I was a bit surprised, but since I have an OSL match tomorrow I think it’s a relief.
- Have you prepared a lot for your OSL match tomorrow?
▲ I prepared a LOT. Because I practiced at the expense of playing in the proleague, I believe it’s only right that I advance in both leagues to repay my team. Because I practiced so much, I’m confident I can win tomorrow as well. For now, after reaching the semis in both leagues, in order to repay my team I want to take this momentum and carry it over to my next proleague match as well..

The "controversial" Stork Line, better translated. This is a little bit more stinging.
"I learned about it watching the KT players coming into the waiting room. After seeing the player that is considered the best not playing in order to practice for individual leagues in a situation where every team is concentrating on the proleague, I wondered if he was lacking a little confidence. I'm not sure if the team purposely didn't let him play or if it was requested by himself, but I was very disappointed. Back when my schedule was full, I prepared and play for both my individual and proleague games. I wanted to play him today, so I prepared my Terran matchup, so it was a bit more disappointing for me."
"I really wanted to play against Flash today in one of my matchups. While you can only know the results after playing, I am confident that I am able to win. I watched in the SKT vs KT game fantasy being too happy. I thought he was being too happy since he only managed to beat flash once, and while everyone speaks as if Flash is some unbeatable opponent, I think otherwise. While Flash is a good player, he is not an unbeatable opponent. So that's why, if I am given a chance, I wanted to play Flash to win in order to show that Flash is indeed beatable. There are the 5th round games left, and if the chance is there, I definitely want to play against Flash and play a great match."

▲ I was just a bit surprised. My teammates told me to read his interview so I did and I was a bit taken aback. But after reading it again, I thought he must have said that because I am still lacking as a player. Next season if a situation like this arrives again, I will make sure I play in the proleague match as well. I think this was just a result of my lack as a player.
- Do you think he said that because you have such a large presence nowadays?
▲ If that was indeed the case, I think that would be better for me. However, after reading the interview, I don’t think he said that because he was jealous but rather, he was just being straightforward with his thoughts. To be honest, I was a bit hurt, but I plan on getting over it acknowledging my lack as a player. Quite frankly, I wasn’t confident I could play 3 days straight in both leagues and the proleague so I made that request to the coaching staff, and the team gave me a break from one match as well. By next season when I have attained even more confidence, I believe I will be able to play in all three leagues and win.
- Between winning the OSL your third time or winning the MSL for the first time, which are you more concerned with?
▲ I would have to say the golden mouse is on my mind more. However, I do want to win both. Becoming a league champion is something everyone desires, so to have to pick one is very difficult. I’ll prepare extremely hard for both, and though winning one of the two would be great, I definitely want to win both.
- Did your experience playing in the finals of both leagues last season help?
▲ It did. After the MSL finals last season the manager told me, “just think of it as an experience that won’t happen again”, saying “you can only go up from here”, and I think that helped a lot. I will take last season’s experience to strengthen me as I try to win both leagues this season as well.
- Is there a particular player you want to face if you get to the finals?
▲ I would have to say Jaedong hyung. Because I was so regretful after last season’s finals, I want to be able to achieve a great win this time.
- Last words you want to say?
▲ I want to thank Barracks who despite the fact that it was the team’s day off stayed behind and helped me practice. I will make sure that I do well tomorrow as well. Also, KT fans sent some Chunhaeyang and a set of fruit to our house and they were quite delicious. Thank you.

- Your feelings on finally reaching the semis again after two seasons?
▲ I’ve reached the semis, and because I’m able to play a zerg as my opponent in the semis I’m happy. The only thing on my mind is how much I want to reach the finals.
- How were today’s games?
▲ To be honest in the first few games, I made a lot of micro mistakes. Because of this, I wasn’t able to play as I desired so I believe I advanced difficultly.
- After the 4th set, there was a pause. (t/n: there was a pause after the 4th set because great couldn’t drone drill to his back expo because he couldn’t see the geyser – january demanded a replay - apparently she raised this issue during the match but the ref didn’t do anything about it; afterwards, ref questioned why great didn’t just pause the game right then and there, to which january's rage increased even more. great’s replay showed he indeed couldn’t see the geyser, but Kespa ref ultimately announced it was a mis-micro on great’s part – they showed that with precise micro, it is possible)
▲ While battling because there are a lot of nerves involved, I believe anyone could make a mistake like that. Depending on where you are on the map, I knew that cases like that were possible. At first, I too struggled with the same issue, but after continually playing, I got used to it.
- After winning the Avalon MSL, you dropped out in the Ro32 the next season – do you feel nervous this season at all?
▲ I believe every player has a period he does well and also a period he doesn’t perform that great – I think that’s just human (laughs). I feel it’s a relief I’ve able to advance this far again, and I want to go even further.
- After losing sets 2 and 3 did you feel flustered?
▲ Because I lost so vainly in the first two sets I thought today’s match would be really difficult to win as I entered set 4, so it was a huge relief that I won. To be honest, I did feel that it would be a really hard situation for me to get out of.
- How much luck do you think was on your side?
▲ I’ve always thought advancing requires a bit of luck. The person that wins always needs some luck following them.
- Before the 5th set, there was a really long break (t/n: see above pause issue) – what were you thinking then?
▲ Honestly I’ve always thought it’s more advantageous for the winner of a game to start playing the next set right away but I tried not to think about it too much – instead I focused on the build I prepared, and the coaches also told me not to pay too much attention to it because it seemed that it was my opponent’s fault. I just kept thinking about the fifth set.
- Who do you want to play in the semis?
▲ I want to play a zvz with Jaedong in the semis again. I believe Jaedong is the top zerg player right now, and though I don’t think that fact will change even if I win, if I could beat someone of his caliber I believe it’d be a feat in itself. I want to beat him and at least catch up to his feet (laughs).
- Last words you want to say?
▲ hero, Modesty, and yCh[z-zOne] all helped me in practice. yCh[z-zOne] especially helped me practice as if it were his own league game so I want to say thank you.

Let me clear some shit up about Stork and Fomos
Fomos (and Esports Daily at a certain extent) is known to exaggerate the shit out of interviews once in a while. Remember the Kwanro vs Stork interview? Well Kwanro and Stork had a chance to talk to each other on the show "뒷담화" (starcraft backstage-talk) and both players said that the interviews seemed very exaggerated from the original and both players had no hard feelings for each other.
To me, the previous interview is either once again manhandled by Fomos Staff or Stork was being brutally honest.
Also another thing, when I read the whole Stork interview I wasn't OMGSHOCKED or anything, this is how stork does every interview in Korea since 2006. It's just that how we looked at Stork from 2006-2008 changed dramatically from how we look at Stork 2008-Now (nobody seems to remember Stork was the most hated progamer on TL for a loooonnngggg time). Foreign people just love stork while Koreans still bash him. Some criticize Stork for being unprofessional, while we the foreign audience find all his actions 'badass' at a certain extent.
Stork is a progamer who's condition of play relies 99% on confidence. When stork is even a little unconfident everything he does is absolute shit. But if Stork starts getting on a roll he starts raping shit. This is how Stork just rolls.
FUNFACT: Do you want to know the real reason why Stork was laughing during Kwanro vs Stork when kwanro all-in'd?
Was it to mock Kwanro? No! Infact here is what really happened. The week before the OSL game, Stork was practicing PvZ game on Fighting Spirit to play against Kwanro. Stork lost almost every single game. That's right, Stork's lategame PvZ wasn't up to par from his teammates. Stork raged so hard because it was the only decent map to play PvZ on. Instead Stork just practiced all-ins from Zergs because that was the only thing he had confident in. And when Kwanro all-in'd, Stork was so happy. He couldn't believe his eyes when the only thing he practiced for happened in real life. That is why Stork was laughing.
(source is 뒷담화, just go to ongamenet.com and look for the KAL OSL Episode)
That said, I honestly think the journalist misinterpreted what Stork said during an interview and they decided to just spice it up because everybody wants a source of Drama. But then again if this was what Stork really said I wouldn't be a single bit surprised. He is a player who flows with the waves of confidence he earns or loses.
PS: to that guy asking about if Stork is being Flamed; the whole Khan team is being flamed by mostly Kal/Clam/Flash fans because of MSL and PL lol.
