Artosis knows he's not good enough for Code S and that if he made Code A, which is slightly possible in the future, he'd be at the very bottom, BUT you know he really wishes he could be a better player... Some of his bitterness comes with some jealousy that some players that are better than him or around the same skill lose horrible games and thus shouldn't even be there over him. It's understandable but a lot of the things he says are either not true or get outdated by the time he mentions them again, so from what I see, about 90% of his flaming/bad jabbering is completely worthless and embarrassing to a point.
For example, he does nothing but bash on Choya all day everyday, yet half of the matches he PROMISES Choya is going to get raped in, Choya win but Artosis keeps flaming him for sucking.

The thing is, Artosis gives just as much praise to great players when they show that they deserve it. Have you heard him talk about Clide? Nestea? Jinro? IdrA? Tester? etc etc. Most of the time I think he is basically bang on with any criticisms/praise that he has, and I'm thankful for his honesty.

Anyway, think of it from his perspective: to the foreigner community, he is essentially the face of the GSL (Tasteless too) - a tournament which is supposed to represent the very best players in the world and thus host some of the most awe-inspiring games. With that in mind, wouldn't you feel embarrassed, a little angry[i] even, to cast games like LittleBoy vs ButterflyEffect? Especially given the fact that he has 12 years of playing and understanding this game behind him, and yet he is forced to see new players come here and make extremely basic mistakes.

As far as I'm concerned, the only 2 players he has ever actually 'flamed' are BitByBit and Choya, both of whom deserved it in my opinion. BitByBit for being the epitome of what SC2 SHOULDN'T be, and Choya for fluking his way into Code S off poorly executed 4 gates and other low-skill high-reward builds.

Bitter and jealous are just blatant exaggerations. Sounds like you've just convinced yourself that he's worse than he is.

Yes, I have heard him give so much praise to so many players "xxxx is SOOOO GOOOOOOOD" and then that player gets completely rolled in the games to come....
I'm not saying that he should only stop his bashing, I'm saying he should stop making such opinionated comments that he has no idea about.
Anyone can say "IMNesTea is SUCH a good player" and get away with it, but ...

But the emotion is part of being an entertainer. Praising and grinding allows for emotions, livelihood. I can imagine that people who really watch for the skills displayed and are only interested in an analysis of a level as high as possible, Tastosis can be at times a bit irritating.

But they're the best team for the widest audience possible.
(btw, of the well-known casters, Tastosis is imho the only one who's actually able to see what it means for what will be coming. In most cases he seems to be a really good magic orb reader :p)

I doubt it, Tasteosis said that they tend to focus more on entertainment while the Korean commentators tend to be more professional.

THAT IS IT! Finally for so long!

The op image of Spades is the one I remember from his sMi days!
Back in the day when he was owning the Brood War scene people made the funniest photoshops out of that picture after his "ordeal". Too funny, great memories, great thread, great people. I love you all.

But Tastosis is wrong so often its ridiculous... That's not unheard of though since they predict so often they are bound to get so many of their predictions wrong..
I don't watch the streams expecting to find mad skills and hope for lame analysis's, I watch it to find professionalism in eSports. When I see Tastosis cast, all I see is 2 foreigners trying to cast a pro Korean match. They do a good job casting it, but it's still a much lower level than the Korean casters, just because they lack proper etiquette and casting professionalism.

No foreigner will qualify by themselves.... Do you know how expensive it is just for the foreigners to be there? Imagine if they had to spend the massive amount of time to play Code B, qualify up to Code A, and then have their chance at Code S?
Nobody will ever do it unless they want to live in Korea for a year.

It's fine that you don't like their casting style, but please stop pretending such a thing as "proper etiquette and casting professionalism" exists as whole in the business. It may be possible to claim such a thing exists in Korean casting scene, but looking at sportcasting as whole, it does not. Casters are first and foremost entertainers; their professionalism amounts to keeping the viewers/listeners entertained and thus increasing viewership and profits. If the target audience dislikes their style, they should change, otherwise there's no obligation. I'd pick Tastosis over the generally boring korean casters anytime.
