The result of applying the name template is a text/string. Wherever there's a sub-folder separator (backslash) in the result, Sc2gears will place the replay in that sub-folder. If the sub-folder does not exist, it will be created automatically.
You can specify multiple sub-folders. If the result is "1v1\AutoMM\Belial\..." then Sc2gears will place your replay in the folder of "C:\SC2Replay archive\1v1\AutoMM\Belial\...". This folder structure is "deep". You can specify the name template to not create deep structure, you can have only 1 level: "1v1 AutoMM Belial\...". In this case your replays would go to "C:\SC2Replay archive\1v1 AutoMM Belial\...".
You can place sub-folder separators anywhere in the name template. Any symbol and custom text can be part of either folder names and replay file names. With this you can't separate replays to 2 folders though having yours in one and the rest in the other.

Is there anything like a common database for map/player name aliases?
Writing them all out for each person is a bit exhausting. It would be awesome if people could put their heads together to assemble it together so anyone could just copy and paste it in for ease of use.

Thanks! I went into "Miscellaneous Options", and renamed it so it's
/f /Y\ /p1\ /T /p1 vs /r2 /N05 /d /h
So it's files of Format(1v1,2v2) and of Type (mm, private, public). So on the 'top' level it's like 1v1 automm 2v2 pub 2v2 priv 3v3 pub, priv , etc
Then click on 1v1 automm, there's "Belial" and a folder for any rep I download of anyone else. So I set "Belial" as source, and when I get other replays, I can quickly delete them because a folder will be created for them.

And there would be a problem if anyone could edit it, false information could be added based on personal speculation, and valid information could be removed. But it would be cool for such a database to exist...

It would be awesome if people could put their heads together to assemble it together so anyone could just copy and paste it in for ease of use. I don't have any player aliases, I think a lot of pros share accounts in tournaments, which is the only time I'd have their replays, so it's not really worth keeping a list.
I use the map acronym (first letters of the words of the map) for my replay rename template. Some of these map aliases have to do with that.

Suggestion for Sc2gears: Make large text boxes have word wrap instead of horizontal scroll bars.(Player/Map aliases and Pre-defined Lists text boxes)

Wrapping (instead of scrolling) would cause some confusion as to what is a group (where are the group borders).

Okay. I thought everything was working, but it isn't.
I'm having an issue. My folders, it is like this:
C:\SC2ReplayArchive-->
1v1 AutoMM 1v1 Private 1v1 Public 2v2 AutoMM 3v3 Public 4v4 Public Custom Private Custom Public
Clicking 1v1 AutoMM leads me to two folders ->
Belial AutoMM
Both lead to weird results.
Belial -> 1v1AutoMM->Belial-> replays only from 5/21 onwards
And...
1v1AutoMM goes to ->
Belial GUL (replay i downloaded of some guy)
This is as intended, I assume - that it should go 1v1AutoMM, and then folders set up for each players (so I can analyze all replays of myself easily, by all of my own 1v1 ladder games all going to a specific folder). But then it goes deeper...
c:\sc2replayarchive\1v1AutoMM\1v1AutoMM\Belial...
-3 replays, from 5/19 to 5/51 -folder 1v1AutoMM
It goes even deeper...
c:\sc2replayarchive\1v1AutoMM\1v1AutoMM\Belial\1v1AutoMM\Belial... All replays from 5/19 and earlier, of Belial (myself) 1v1 AutoMM.
Now in sc2gears, if I either of these folders, I have a problem. If I set: c:\sc2replayarchive\1v1automm\Belial\1v1AutoMM\Belial, I only get like 29 replays, and my new ones.
but then I miss a ton of replays.
Wtf :X

The template you provided (/f /Y\ /p1\ /T /p1 vs /r2 /N05 /d /h) indeed should result in a folder structure of: 1v1 AutoMM\Belial\replay_name...
for 1v1 ladder games. However you have a space before the /p1 and /T tags, you might wanna remove that (I guess that's unintentional to start folder names and replay names with a space.
If you see the folder structure repeating itself, it might be due to you applying this name template manually.
Think about that: you have a replay in the folder of "1v1 AutoMM\Belial" and you apply a template on this replay which tells to put the replay in a folder of "1v1 AutoMM\Belial", the result is "1v1 AutoMM\Belial\1v1 AutoMM\Belial...".
When you manually apply name templates on auto-saved replays by Sc2gears, in most cases you don't want to include sub-folders specified in the replay auto-save name template.
|
^ Okay, so the problem was me selecting replays and saying "rename". So how do I re-organize all my current replays then?
And I should remove the spaces in my name template.
edit: which space for the /p1 are you talking about, since I have p1 in the format twice
so what do I do? Do I rename all replays, except remove the beginning part of my name template that has the \ in it?
|
Holy shit that must be the biggest op I've ever seen. sc2gears has so many features, I wish I wasn't lazy and learnt them all.

so what do I do? Do I rename all replays, except remove the beginning part of my name template that has the \ in it? If you want to reorganize all your replays, you can do this in the following way:
1) Move all your replays to the root of your SC2 replay archive folder (where you want all your replays auto-saved). 2) Apply your replay auto-save name template on them (including subfolders).
Done. From now on, replay auto-save name template will place your new replays into the proper sub-folder. Remeber if you manually rename some replays, you should not include sub-folders in the manual name template (except if this is your intent).
How to move all your replays to the root of your SC2 replay archive folder? Start a new replay search, on the search source add all subfolders being in your SC2 replay archive folder. Now list all replays. Select all replays, right click, then "Move replays". Select your SC2 replay archive folder as the target of the move operation.

In 'GM maphackers are growing: Impa' thread there was a good idea how to automatically detect auto-ability hacks from replays: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614¤tpage=33#646 and http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614¤tpage=33#649
I suggest that some kind of auto-ability hack detection would be added as a feature for sc2gears (or as a plugin if somebody else than dakota_fanning would be interested to implement it).
I did a quick research based on the findings in 'GM maphackers' thread with a replay where the other player auto-ability hacks (type: auto-blink, hacker: DSNiNETAiL, replay: http://drop.sc/188346). Note that this replay contains only little auto-blink-action in the end of the match that is hard to see by watching the replay. There are other replays available where the auto-blink is more easily detected when watching the replay.
Here is what auto-blink hack action sequence looks like when reading the action list of a replay (happens during a single frame):
1) Deselect all 2) Blink with an individual stalker 3) Attack with stalker 4) Reselect previous selection
The action sequence happens during a single frame. And thus in in-game it seems that the player selection does not change during the automated action sequence. For example when the hacker has his whole army selected and auto-blink happens, it seems that the whole army is still selected when individual stalkers are blinking.
Here is a picture of the action list when DSNiNETAiL uses auto-blink in the end of the match (starting real time 11:28 / frame 61016): http://imgur.com/gJyVc
Here is a screenshot from the end of the match (game time 15:59/real time 11:32, the third auto blink sequence in previous picture): http://imgur.com/PIZ2w
The replay of the match: http://drop.sc/188346
There are several other auto-ability hacks. The most notable are auto-injection & auto-burrow with roaches. In the replays that I have watched the selection does not change (visible to the user) when auto-inject / auto-burrow happens. Thus most likely these action sequences also happen during a single frame and have somewhat similar sequences as auto-blink hack. I did not search for example replays, but there should be plenty available.
As all of these auto-ability hacks seem to happen during a single frame, the easiest detection method would be to flag (as possible hack case) all replays where a player has 'too many different type of actions during a single frame' (different type of actions so that command group spam, right-click spam, scroll wheel casting would not give false positives). If an auto-ability hack is used in a flagged match, it can be easily verified by watching the replay. If the auto-ability hack is changed to avoid the 'single-frame' detection, then it potentially messes up its user's control during the match as the automatic selection changes become visible in-game (thought it would also become harder to detect auto-ability hacks by watching the replay). When the selection change happens during one frame, the selection changes are not visible to the user. This kind of simple detection method would most likely detect also users who use multi-action keyboard macros without delays in-between to automate gameplay.
I asked in the 'GM maphackers' thread if people would provide example replays, where different kinds of auto-ability hacks are used: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614¤tpage=39#772

I can't say I have any problems with cheaters (that I know of), but it would be extremely interesting to run a cheat-detector like this on all the games I've played to see what it would dig up. I want it!

To continue my previous post I checked couple of other replays through the replay analyzer that were claimed to contain auto-ability hacks (these are all from TL hacker database threads). I also quickly verified that the replays contained auto-ability hack action by watching small parts of them:

Based on these 3 replays (+ the replay in my previous post) the auto-ability sequences seem to be either 3 (inject & burrow) or 4 (blink) steps long and happen during a single frame. As the user is able to micro/macro at the same time as auto-abilities are used, it often results that more actions than just the auto-actions happen during the same frame.

Those who remember the BWHF Project know that detecting hacks and tracking hackers is something close to my heart (I am the author of the BWHF Project too).
When the time comes, Sc2gears will be armed to detect hacks...

Can't macros being used to inject? if so, it isn't really a hack, just a serious of commands. All you need is to write a script for : ~(0-base camera),(1-queen hotkeyed), left click, repeat - and place mouse on centre screen.

Using keyboard macros (multiple actions per one key press) is considered cheating and bannable offence. Single button bindings (one action per one key press) are ok and thus for example scrollwheel casting is 'legal', unless forbidden e.g. in tournament rules.

Released a 10.4.1 version which adds the Season 8 start date. A must-have update if you use the Ladder season symbol in your naming template.

Is there a general guide somewhere to common functions in sc2gears? I've searched the forums and the website and have messed around with the multi-replay analyzer, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get matchup specific win rates and win rates based on time length
