btw, DPS VEIGAR Ftw! lol. i actually did well. carry with an AOE stun isnt so bad...
I've played a few games as DPS Fiddle. Good CC + decent movement speed/attack range == playable ranged DPS. Not exactly great, though.

It's purely about ELO. But it's hard to have an ELO below a certain point once you're level 30, because the masteries and runes have a significant effect.

There are plenty of crappy level 30s.
Obviously I don't know how crappy they are in relation to level 10s, but...

I made a smurf account for fun and after winning something like 6 games in a row (Tristana is just soo evil against noobs) I was automatically bumped up to playing guys with 200/300 games and what not.
I don't feel masteries/runes make that big of a deal; I manage just fine on him with him having no runes and the smallest of masteries.

|
you get +15% for just Marks in Attack Speed.
|
It doesnt make a difference if those 200-300 game players suck. You really feel the difference when they're good though. I'm still amazed how some people with 300+ games can blow so hard.
|
people with 200-300 wins can suck if they don't play their main character. good example is me... i suck with every hero except blitz haha
i got 341 wins now
264wins are from blitz #1 most played hero 10 wins with poppy #2 9 wins with Anivia #3
oh but i can play gangplank pretty good he is all about ult and auto attack

How much does my friend's Nasus build suck? He saw how well I did building him as a tank (I usually go like 7-3-16 or something) that he decided to try a full DPS build because "full tanks aren't useful and should be doing damage in team fights to help at all." Also he says a full DPS team would own any other team. Something along the lines of Ashe,Teemo, Sivir, Yi, Jax.
-Berserker's Grieves -Sheen>Zeal>Phage>Trinity Force -Black Cleaver -Last Whisper -Bloodthirster
To me his build doesn't cater to Nasus's role or strengths very much. If you wanted full DPS champ aren't there others that do a lot better at it? And to me DPS Nasus is pretty much tank Nasus with a trinity force and his ult. After I have all my tank items I'll grab Infinity Edge or something like, but I can't see full DPS nasus being viable.

i apologize if it seems like im trolling, but for me the game seemed really laggy (even if i was only facing vs bots), had graphics that are worse than brood war, and wasnt more fun than DotA. LoL just doesnt seem like that good of a game to me at the moment

yea, nasus should be like, sheen first into soft tanking, into finishing triforce if you need more punch more than more survivablity later. I dunno, the scariest Nasuses I've played against always open sheen -> merc treads -> aegis -> generic tanking shit that makes sense vs. opponents + maybe triforce.
basically just read the post below this :p. the team listed by your friend is absolute bottom tier and will get completely rapestroyed by any even halfway competent team before anyone's even farmed enough for their first BF Sword.

In my experience it's not consistently laggy, and in my opinion, the graphics are far superior to bw, it's way more fun than DotA and at the moment it's the game I probably enjoy the most.

Still can't get over that absolutely random triple-kill by Baikin though.
That doesn't make up for your epic fail @ bottom!

First of all, the role of tanks in this game is to initiate battles by absorbing most initial blows, and then to mass-disable them. That's why the top-tier tanks are what they are (Alistar, Malphite, Rammus, Amumu, etc.) - they have a strong disable and the ability to punish the enemy team for ignoring them, while at the same time punishing the enemy team for focusing them. A team without a tank will almost always lose to a team with a tank for that precise reason - you usually won't have that strong disable and the early meatshield.
Ashe Teemo Sivir Yi Jax will get owned by many teams (by the way Jax is an off-tank, which is kind of the role taken by Nasus, which means that you're essentially a tank, but not a primary one as you're not able to mass disable) because 1) not enough gold to go around 2) no disables.
TL/DR example of one game where we played Amumu/Jax/Ashe/Yi/Zilean + Show Spoiler +For instance, we just faced a team running something like, Amumu Jax top, Ashe mid, Yi Zilean bot. Without lag, Blitzcrank destroyed Jax in a 1v2 lane, as early-game Jax simply isn't very strong. A better Jax may have avoided a 0-2 hole in 5 minutes - point remains, he was not doing very well getting gold either way.
That early rut forced Jax to jungle, which he would have had to do at some point anyways, because it's hard to farm gold in a lane, especially a dual lane where Amumu is going to be auto-pushing lanes (Tantrum).
Well here's the problem, only one person can really jungle at a time, because there isn't enough creep.
Compounding the issue was that I'm Malphite, and knowing that their Jax and Yi were going to need to fight over their own jungle, I actually went out of my way to ward both sides of their jungle. And then I started jungling in THEIR jungle, with my teammates on alert that they're going to constantly try to collapse on me. Except early-game Malphite is strong as hell - I beat Yi and Jax 1v2. "But, you're not getting any gold!" you might cry. Yes, but a Malphite with no gold is still more effective than a Yi and Jax with no gold, because you know, I don't need to kill. My ult, and my ground slam (-50% attack speed) lets me do my job.
So the game ended rather one-sided. Their Ashe, fortunately for them, beat back our Ez 1v1 solo mid, and was able to farm up really well. Their Yi and their Jax, however, were dirt poor and thus useless. Now you're also looking at them not having much disable. Aside from their random Amumu ult, their Ashe was undefended, particularly from me, who was stronger than their Ashe (yes, Malphite actually owns most DPS heroes 1v1). So the Ashe was forced to rush a Banshee Veil to prevent me from like, you know, destroying her. Well great, now their lone farmed DPSer hasn't been able to keep up with our Ezreal's DPS!
All because we had a strong tank (Malphite) and the other team loaded up on no-disable DPSers.
As for the other question, melee DPS heroes as a general rule of thumb are required to tank shit -- this has been a recurring theme in this thread There is a whole lot of AoE "stuff" that flies around and is unavoidable, on top of the actual focused damage you'll take, especially if you're a melee hero. And in this game... even with full defensive equipment you can die in a blink. I'm talking, a Jax with 3500 hp and 200/200 armor/MR dying in 5 seconds. Imagine how I'd have fared if I'd gone full DPS. The game would definitely not have lasted "that long."

I totally got one of the kills though!
lol, AND my statline at the end was better cause I wasn't feeding bottom for the first ten minutes UNLIKE SOMEONE

gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd i wanna play TT but my laptop is still being repaired. anybody know how to install LoL onto an external harddrive? specifically, with a computer that doesn't give admin privileges (thinking of just playing on school cluster) although i can temporarily obtain a computer to install with. tried just relocating the install directory to external (instead of C:program files) but that ended up failing. any ideas?

Apparently you can dodge shit when Shaco uses his Ult. The cast animation causes Shaco to dissappear from the map for like 0.5 seconds. So if you time it right, you can dodge shit like nunu's absolute zero and pantheon's jump strike. Probably works with direct ranged skills.

Here is the TT AS Chogath guide that rapes all face:
Take armor pen marks, mana regen seals, cd reduction glyphs, and flat HP quints.
You will be running cleanse* and ghost*, because cleanse is the best spell on TT and ghost* chases/escapes best.
Take defensive masteries. 9/21/0. Don't forget improved cleanse!
Gameplan:
First item: Ruby Crystal. Regen is useless in a level 1 fight compared to 200 health, and you will most likely be fighting at level 1, like every TT game I've ever played.
Take Q (Rupture) first. This is what makes chogath such a beast in teamfights. If you are good, you can hit an entire team with it or force them to make bad decisions about saving one champion as they run. Have someone clair aggressively to find out where they are, and ambush them if you can win. If you can't, play defensively and try to steal the lizard if they push it.
Level 2, take E (Vorpal Spikes, passive). Farm with this and push lanes. You can last hit really easily, and in TT it's not a bad thing to have a lane pushed, because it lets you go to the other lane. Get all the last hits you can and farm hard. You will be leveling this skill up as your primary skill. Why? Because it adds 20 damage plus 10 for each level, and your role in a teamfight will be to stand there whacking people after you rupture them. You're not a tank anymore. You are a disabler, because this is TT.
Your first item should be Phage. Phage will get your team kills.
Level 3, take E. Level 4, take W. You want to keep rupture and scream at level 1 for as long as possible to keep them from using all of your mana. Ideally you should be able to farm an entire wave with one rupture on the caster minions and some well placed vorpal spike strikes.
R>E>Q>W
Your boots will be boots of mobility. They are invaluable on this map for many reasons, and merc's treads aren't as good because of the comparatively small lack of CC and magic. Use mob boots to farm lanes.
MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS BUILD:
BUY AS MANY WARDS AS YOU CAN AFFORD AFTER EACH FOUNTAIN TRIP. PLACE THEM AT LIZARD, DRAGON, THEIR TOWER GRASS AND ANYWHERE ELSE IMPORTANT.
Also, get a red elixir if you can afford it. This will win you so many teamfights it's not funny.
Your next item is an upgrade to Frozen Mallet. From there, force teamfights and get a Warmog's. After Warmog's, Stark's. Don't be afraid to lose your feast stacks. You're not stacking mejai's, and you're playing a disabler/chaser cho now, so don't worry if you lose stacks. Treat them as a bonus for killing people well.
After Stark's, if you are still going on, get an Atma's Impaler. For once, it's useful.
Last Whisper if the game goes on any longer.
If there's a DPS that's giving you a hard time, get a thornmail instead of one of the items.
Other than that, just hit your ruptures and screams and feast when they're mid to low health. Focus one character and have your Mallet slow them, and your team will take care of the rest.
Happy hunting!

Just played one of the most awful games ever. Three completely incompetent teammates, one of whom took center as Karthus and got completely destroyed by a Zilean. He spent the rest of the game bitching about how Zilean needed to be nerfed. Ugh.
I hate pub queues sometimes.
