YAO Gaming has finally established its existence as a community channel, made and maintained by the community for the community. The channel is essentially a tool to help players establish a network of their own to improve their game as well as helping others improve their own.
The response has been very positive thus far, The user count has been climbing steadily. Which is why we have started hosting tournaments. These tournaments are not to be seen as 'super competitive' (as we are not a 'super competitive' community) - but generally are just for fun and really good practice. It is very important to note here that we welcome people of ANY skill level into the YAO Gaming channel!
There is also a team inside YAO Gaming. It's a more or less serious team with good players. The channel doesn't rely on the team and vice versa.
The recent activity shows a great movement in the right direction. there is the odd hater once in a while, but that comes with the package
This channel has always got so many people in it at peak times on the EU server. Lots of really high level people hang out here as well meaning you can be assured that you will be playing people of your appropriate skill level. Great for general chat and finding practice games.
Thanks for the responses -> it should be mentioned that just because you are not a master level player, that doesnt mean the channel isn't for you. The channel is designed for ALL skill levels. if you are a bronze league hero, but WANT to improve, then come look for some games and some obs. Have fun improving~
also another thing; there is no need to pm me about the YAO Gaming team, as we are taking care of that 100% internally
It's nice to see that the channel is still so active after all this time, I recommend this channel to anyone looking for good practice partners. A lot of nice people in the channel
I have seen a lot of games being played today. It's really nice to see everyone so willing to have specs too and really talking about the games being played. Makes me super happy.

If by "this" you mean the chat channel yes it is still happening. Make sure you are joining "YAO gaming" spelt exactly like that with the space inbetween the YAO and gaming.

YAO Gaming averages at around 30 people during prime time. not as big as the teamliquid channel.. But seeing how that went, i think i'm fine with that

Should be mentioned too, that most of the people in the channel is very mannered and gives advice to players in the lower leagues quite frequently, so this is a great channel for everyone looking to improve, and since we've been around for so long, we have quite a stable core. So you can be sure that it won't dissapear next week.
What I think is really cool is some of the alternative strategies I have been seeing from players! Watching players getting better it pretty awesome too!
I know this thread is old and this might be an unecessary bump, but this channel is still very much alive and kicking and I see a lot of people asking for channels to find practice partners etc, so if youre interested in a channel where you can find practice partners, then join our channel! We have players of all levels. (sorry for bumping an old thread, but this project has fostered a really nice community so far, so I would still like to see new people joining us)

Don't worry about the general skill level of the channels, we have everything from bronze to masters (unless dApollo is GM? lol). Strategy talk is fine and we can help you learn too if you want
